Anyone know when they will start the refund process? I figured someone here has already emailed them -

I very much feel like if this was just out there it would actually sell alright, across the course of, say, six to twelve months. It's a shame it had to be done this way but I understand why.

    Q
What was the actual reasoning behind having a crowdfun only last X amount of days? I've never looked into why or expressly read why here on this forum. Wouldn't it just have been easy to let it run 6 months?

I don't think I've ever seen a crowdfund run for that long. As this one showed, with triple digits of orders during the first half and double digits of orders during the second half, they tend to taper off naturally, so running for umpteen months just means that it trickles to a halt and does nothing for most of that time.

    A humble suggestion.
Produce and sell Supermax as MG/PG Model kit.
Use the regular MMC plastics, but just box the sprues with a baggy of pins and screws.
Whip up some solid instructions and there we go.
The huge part count is literally reduced to the amount of sprues in the box.

For 20 years Bandai has been making bank off this strategy in the US.

Oh God. With the amount of intricate, moving parts it has? I'd be in an asylum in a straightjacket before the first day was out.

Yeah, a regular release at $200ish would've probably sold fine...I don't know how crowdfunds normally work, but I think they're usually longer than a month and a half. The crowdfund window is a moot point now, but I think that if/when this comes to market (in a couple of years?) it'll likely do well over time. With more expensive figures, I've noticed a trend where most people want to wait for the early-adapters to give their seal of approval. $200+ is a lot of money for most people to spend on one release (I know I'm more cautious with my purchases if it's over $80 so with something that's $200+ I'd need it to be darn near perfect). If it's all good, word of mouth spreads about the quality really quickly, then the fence-sitters jump in and stuff sells out fast. I mean, look at Double Evil. Huge figure in the same price bracket as this guy who is also based on a character that a lot of people already have (Carnifex), it didn't initially sell too quick but once reports of it being good trickled in it sold out most places pretty quickly. Most people just need peace of mind before they spend that type of money, I think this will be successful enough for a run or two once they bring it to market (and maybe add in some G1 friendly display options).

I just had my refund e-mail show up. One of the only times I'm disappointed to have money put in my account.

Hopefully we'll see this design show up again sometime.

Just got my refund as well. Then turned around and spent it on MMC's Vortex before they turn off Free Shipping for it.

Id 100% buy the Supermax, Armada Megs, and Big Convoy versions if they were made. Even at a smaller scale (not simplified) id be in for all 3.

Seems so. I hope this doesn't get simplified, because the engineering was one of the biggest things for me with this thing. Lazy, Rick, Dezf, thank you for all the communication and help you'd have going on in this thread. And hey, maybe my review for the crowdfund will be on the PSX website. XD

Thank you for sharing these. I actually hate Armada but I would have bought that Armada Megatron.
Brave Maximus doesn't look as good as I imagined, but Grand Maximus looks amazing.
I would have purchased that Fallen, and think that it could easily be modified to make another Turmoil.
The regular gray colored megatron is a looker too, but I can only imagine how amazing it would look in a G2 deco.
Dam IT, just had mine show up too. Why won't you take my money MMC.
I guess I'll go drown my sorrows of not having SuperMax in my life with some booze in Waikiki.

Wouldn’t be any worse compared to a Bandai PG. hardest part is cutting the parts off cleanly.

Hopefully some company will pick up the design and make it or at least do one of the variations. Megatron would have sold for sure. They should have let everybody see the repaints up front. Oh well, This will hopefully not be just a memory. This sucks big time. Try again with the Megatron design.

@RVDA That's awesome to hear, but I do realize there are compromises in real life and honestly.. I'm not saying never. I know you will work hard to make this happen, and be an amazing figure. I'd buy an Armada Megatron no question as well..
