I think they deleted this scene because Charlie mentions that "a voice came out of his chest". That would mean that when they shot this scene, they hadn't decided to make Prime a hologram instead of just a voice in that scene. So this conversation between Charlie and Memo would create a continuity error.

Well, that and it doesn't really add anything to the story except a joke.

    Wow.

    That.

    Was.

    Incredibly.

    Stupid.

(I think it's a great idea to delete any scene you wrote on a cocktail napkin while drinking heavily! :thumb  I can challenge a room full of 5th graders, and they would write better dialogue than that. Plus, if you were really going for a GoBot reference, there are more clever ways to do it than to just blurt the name out and laugh at them. :rolleyes2  It's like Michael Bay suggested this scene...)

They could\'ve also written how these robots are invaders and how they could become \"Masters Of The Universe.\"  I\'m sure they cut it out because the joke was a bit lame and the reference would be unknown to the audience that have grown up in the 90s and 00s.

I like the shot of Memo holding a GoBots comic in the final movie, but I think this scene would've been a bit heavy-handed.

I'm glad they cut a lot of the scenes that they did. Some of them were't just trimmed out scenes for time, they were entirely different scenes. And the other extras with Agent Burns of Sector 7 and the motion comic with a young Agent Simmons is pure cringe.

I like the scene, but I kind of agree. It's almost a bit too meta. It would almost be like referencing Batman (as a fictional character) in a Marvel movie. Or having Kirk watch the Star Wars movie in Star Trek. This is even even more confusing though, since Gobots is owned by Hasbro, and is even part of the Transformers canon to an extent.

I do see what you mean, but I still think it could've worked. People laughed when they saw his comic book cover when he tossed it so he wouldn't be seen with it.

Cheers. The link worked. I was thinking of uploading a copy myself, but was worried YouTube would take it down/this site would do the same, do didn't bother.

I don't think there would've been anything wrong with keeping this scene in the movie. We've seen big Hollywood films being referrenced in other big Hollywood films before. For example - Yoda in E.T., E.T.s in Star Wars. So why not? Gobots are Hasbro property as well, right?

I liked the clean up scene, if only for Charlie getting 'carwashed'

Although it is her younger brother spraying her in a white tank...

    I feel icky.

That sounds incredibly Bay-ish. This must've been Bay's contribution via advice to Knight. Ugh.

*Reading the script while this description appears*
Knight and Co: ... Wait a minute what?

Bay: what? You said you'd give some creative liberties on helping you, take it or leave it, man, gotta make those Benjamins somehow, besides getting this barely legal teen wet in a tank top is essential to the narrative. Isn't that right buddy?
