I think only one person in the world crying about diecast in this toy wont matter to the designer... especially when those diecast parts are almost all joints meant to strenghten the figure and durability.

Rubber duckies are nice bonus. Diecast is "meh", I can overlook it on Transmetals though, but would have preferred plastic.

They are moving fast. Looks like they will be first Legends Beastwars figure released.

More than one, and not a tear was shed. Either way it isn't a deal breaker, I still want this figure.

I don't like diecast either, it usually makes it hard to pose a figure because of the weight. I never understand people who judge a figure by how heavy it is. Usually lighter figures will hold a pose better .

Those die cast parts, all except the end of the tail, are for the joints...

I've got a bunch of Legends figures right here. None of them need die cast for their joints. They were designed to be made in plastic without breaking.

If we can get carbots with actual rubber tires, I want the rubber duckies to be actual rubber.

So you want the ducky to just wear away & split in half after a month or two?

I dunno, I think Iron Factory's Tarn figure could have benefited from having metal for those purple armatures that broke on a bunch of people.

It's possible, I don't mind it as much for hinges and stuff but when large chunks of the bot are diecast it messes with the figures balance and stuff. Luckily this one isn't too bad

The duckies won't be supporting weight, nor be stretched around a wheel/hub. They shouldn't suffer any wear/stress.

Whoa. Wait. The IF Tarn, the one that combines, has broken on people? (I've been out of the loop with that series because I'm waiting for the inevitable OSKO, honestly.) That really sucks.

Iron Factory needs to work on their designs and tolerances in general. That isn't a problem with plastic, it's a problem with them.

This is, essentially, a 21 year old design. It holds no surprises engineering-wise.

I still have my original unopened Kenner transmetal Megatron. I remember first seeing it as a 8 year old wishing I had it. I still can't believe how hard they are to find, and how much they costs for a decent shaped one.
I feel so lucky to have it.

Also, diecast is always good in my book, no matter what shape or size. I just wish my life was as stable and strong as diecast.

Gold plastic syndrome is what makes that figure so hard to come by

Yeah, I still have my original, but after I found out about his tendency to explode he's been kept veeeery carefully and replaced as a display piece with the Metals version.

Maybe the diecast bits are to alleviate the fragility concerns of the original?

My beef against diecast is that the weight often tends to overwhelm the joint stability to make the figure prematurely floppy, imho. But that shouldn't be an issue with a Legends-sized dude, I'm doubting.

The only part I’m not too comfortable with is the end of the tail. Putting additional weight there may impact Meg’s ability to hold it outstretched or could pull the whole figure over.
However, the rubber duckies have peaked my interest. I’ve been wondering what the hell would I do with such a tiny Megatron but now I think he’d be perfect for a little oil bath diorama sat in front of his large monitor watching his cronies constantly fail or betray him.

Nah. None of the parts they show above are what broke on the original. It was the mix of the metallic plastic that led to GPS. Much like what's going on with UW Motormaster.
