See, i think people are saying no to his bad ideas. Lorenzo has always come off as a shuck and jive carnival barker (or more on point, one of those people that TV shows and movies make fun of...y'know the kind of hollywood guy that thinks and acts like he's way more of a big deal than he actually is).

Seriously, at this point, given how he's more incoherrent than usual, odds are good that he's not making any major decisions here, he's just the mouthpiece they send media to. If he was calling the shots, he wouldn't be backtracking and flipflopping like a fish out of water.

Been a strange week for movie news, hasn't it?

 

Pretty much.

 

This guy blows as much smoke as Michael Bay during his tenure. At this point I'll believe a reboot when the trailer drops lol

 

And Bumblebee is what right now?

Well, only future will show us what this lunatic is trying to say. 

For me, with Bumblebee started a new era, Knightformers. 

 

I believe old Lorenzo is doing the classic tried and tested (and failed) implausible deniabilty trick.

I'm getting the impression he wants to keep the original movieverse, but a lot of people like Bumblebee's approach better, so now he wants to cram in a bit more Bayhem into the next 'Bee movie to make it more to his taste.

On top of that, he's probably also trying to figure out how to retcon the new Bumblebee movieverse back into the earlier one, even if the end result ends up pretty mangled continuity-wise (which is really nothing new, going by the earlier movies. Bonaventura probably sees it as a challenge).

Somebody please get rid of this guy before he f***s up the Bumbebee movieverse as well. I don't care if he's the best buddy of someone high up in the Paramount echelons. We need someone with a brain in charge.

so, when that movie comes out... it will probably split the fandom into warring camps over the gender expression of the bots involved (or lack thereof) and what it "should have been".

I'm really looking forward to fembots being protested as sex objects for kids and any non-hetero appearing relationships made clear being an attempt to corrupt the kids, even though between any app game, fortnite, or a transformer, I never see modern kids choosing a transformer toy, it's still gonna somehow be corrupting them.


let's... not, do romance or crushes or whatever as the focus of a transformers movie, ok? I don't think the world is going to be ready for dealing with such an idea until it won't matter or appeal. keep it in the background more than the 86 movie did, (because there's still a war over which boyfriend arcee must have, daniel, hot rod or springer.)

 

All the more reason to bring Elita back. Maybe next time around, if the writers are competent enough, her relationship with Optimus actually will go somewhere.

 

This series is at X-men level of confusion. Well it’s probably worse at this point.

 

I'll forgive X-Men, with all it's alternative timelines, and so on. I can live with that. (There was a point where I actually considered treating each Transformers movie as being set in a different continuity, due to the various discrepancies).

But if Bonaventura tries to cram the new Bumblebee continuity into the original timeline, it's going to look more like Highlander to me.
