Early 80s Marvel comics issue 1 then the cartoon came or vise versa . Christmas came with soundwave and optimus prime hooked me in my young age. From then it just continued until the show stopped . I was too old for Beast Wars. I ended up seeing it much later with my son who was born into inheriting all my g1 toys. As well as watching Energon,Armada, Animated ,Prime and all of G1 with him. I started buying toys again he asked for G1 hoist is his favorite of old to trypticon of titans return and more

I know that I owned a Bumblebee Action Master figure before I even knew who Bumblebee was... I'm pretty sure I got it from a Ben Franklin store (that is also where I got my first Obi Wan figure... I don't have action master bee but I still have the Obi Wan). My first memory of the cartoon is an episode where Spike has to go to Cybertron... I have no idea why. But I must have loved the show a TON because I know I got little cars transformers (the triple pack little guys) and one christmas I got either Starscream or Skywarp from my grandma (I lost the hands, thought they were gone forever, then found them again in her basement and was super excited).

But the true beginning of my love was Beast Wars. I remember my brother and I watching the first two episodes of Season 2 at my aunt's house on Thanksgiving in her kitchen.

It started in 1996/97 with Beast Wars on Fox Kids and UPN for me & my kid brother. I got my first figure in '98 on my 8th birthday from a cousin. It was the Blue Transmetal Optimus Primal, but what really got me head long into it was when that same cousin took me to Blockbuster and we rented the Original '86 The Transformers:The Movie. From that moment up until about 2001 I was full on obsessed, until the end of RiD. I'm not proud to admit it but after that point I went through a phase when I thought I was too "cool" for Transformers, especially with my budding adolescent mind being more preoccupied with a new interest, girls. This hiatus lasted until about 2007 when the Bayhem commenced! I was hooked all over again, as the first live action film it had everything a 17 yr old could hope for; explosions, action, cool cars, and Meaghan Fox. Fast forward to 2011 with the release of Dark of the Moon, and again I found myself at a point where my interest in the franchise was lost. My interest in the franchise would not return until 2017, and to this day I have not and will not watch any of the other Bay Transformers films. Ironically it wasn't anything new that restored my interest, but rather the tender memories of bonding over Beast Wars with my kid brother in the 90s. In November of 2017 my kid brother passed away unexpectedly. I was a wreck for having lost him, and a wreck for having lost so much time between us (work, family drama, travel, military, etc). How I coped with that grief was through watching those old Beast Wars episodes, because it brought me back to simpler times when we were carefree kids watching Saturday morning cartoons while eating sugary cereals. In time, my fixation with Beast Wars as a coping mechanism evolved into a genuine hobby; collecting MPs, following/watching/reading transformers media, and of course contributing to forums like this.

Since 1985. Mom walked me to the ONLY toy aisle and turned me around to face the “boy side.” On my right were Transformers and on my left were GIJOE. She said “You can pick one... but that’s what you’re sticking with from now on.”

I analyzed them logically and decided Transformers were a vehicle, robot and puzzle all in one toy with boxes that were works of art. GIJOE were bendable war mens with lots of tiny breakable/loseable accessories.

I walked away from Target with a G1 Bumblebee and 35 years later, I’m still a fan, still a collector and voicing Transformers characters as a professional voice actor.

How long I into Transformers? I didn't "into" Transformers, though there was a fan that at least one Transformer went into HER.

    Since the begining.

It was always the toys that did it for me. I liked the cartoons and the comics but for me being able to have a toy car, dinosaur, gun etc that changed to a robot was amazing.

My Mum treated me to my first Transformer at a small toy shop called "Funfair" in Oswestry, UK. I was 7-8 years old and Dinobot Sludge was the first figure I ever owned.

I remember begging for Optimus for xmas and birthdays but never got him. some 15-20 years later I made up for it when I discovered a little auction site called ebay and purchased myself a G1 prime which I still have to this day.

In the 80s. I would've been too young to see the series when it debuted or the movie in theaters, but I remember reruns on TV including the G2 episodes that cut the movie into pieces. Plus I had a few figures for as long as I can remember, so obviously my parents got them for me even when I was like 3 or 4. I don't know exactly what my very first transformer was, but one of the first had to be Hot Spot (because my dad was a firefighter, so of course I got the fire truck one. It would've been too late for Inferno I imagine).

Then as I got older I still watched Beast Wars and I remember then sort of falling away from teh franchise until I saw a commercial for RiD 2001 being on TV. I hated the show, but not long after that I sort of got into the periphery of collecting Transformers again, including getting some of the 20th anniversary figures from Toys R Us, getting the Titan Publishing reprint TPBs of the Marvel comics (I didn't start getting original issues as a kid until well into the Furman run) and then getting hyped up for the Bay movie and all that.

since then my love for the franchise has only gotten stronger instead of petering out. Most recently it was Power of the Primes and the fact that it had a whole set of very G1 Dinobots that got me back into wanting to collect on a slightly bigger scale (that and the fact that my family got me the Titans Return Devastator for christmas a couple years ago too.

I had that Transformer too. I remember everyone else having the yellow one...the crane. Grapple was his name maybe. I loved having ones that other people didn't go straight for

I vaguely remember the original cartoon series, but I was always steered away from watching it because "that's for boys." :(

But I became a fan of Beast Wars when it was originally airing in 1996/1997. It happened to air after my last class in university but before I went to work, so I'd usually catch an episode a few times a week. I bought a whole bunch of the toys, but the only original ones I have left now are a Transmetal 2 Rattrap (with horrid chrome flaking, unfortunately) and a Transmetal 2 Cheetor. After the show became Beast Machines I kinda lost interest in it again.

When the 2007 movie came out I loved it - giant robots are totally up my alley. But then subsequent movies didn't really grab me.

Then someone suggested the IDW TF comics to me about two years ago. I started reading MTMTE, and was completely and utterly hooked. I started vacuuming up other TF media: I love TF: Prime, for example. TF Animated was fun, and I really enjoyed the WFC and FOC games (buying them right before they were taken off the Steam store, fortunately!)

I've also been on a toy collecting tear over the past year, to the point where we're going to have start buying more furniture for me to display my toys. :D
