You do know that they called it a SOFT reboot for a reason ? , Right ? It only makes sense that they incorporate elements of the style that everyone has grown accustomed to , not to mention they didn't know what was around the corner story wise. People have the right to have any opinion that they end up concluding to , but basing a judgement on fragments of the obvious is hardly a plate full of facts , is it that you prefer the Bayverse? , Or just an observation that you have come to ?

 

No, the next “transformers” film will be a complete reboot, with the bumblebee sequel setting it up.

 

Pretty sure the only Bee oriented film entirely Bee focussed is the Bumblebee movies , the next main line film will be just that .. And TBH , Bay made Bee a constant focus ... Heck the first movie was pretty much about a Boy and his car ...

 

I wasn't saying the new main Transformers will be Bee focused, I was saying Bumblebee is the first film in the new reboot continuity, and the next main film will be set in that continuity.

It’s getting hard to keep track of all these different ideas coming through for these movies. From that canceled writers room , to the possibily not happening Optimus & Beast Wars spin-offs, Cybertron prequel and then there’s the whole yes Bumblebee is a reboot no wait it isn’t, o actually it is. (Sigh) I’m telling ya they really need to get a more straight forward strategy worked out here. Maybe it’s just me but that’s my honest opinion.

I mean I don’t think I’ve ever had these kind of misunderstandings with any other part of the franchise

A love story?  These are robots.  People are watching these to see machine on machine violence, not a chick flick.  This is also supposed to be a reboot?  Wasn\'t the BB movie supposed to be the reboot?  And wasn\'t it say a couple of days ago that the next main TF movie supposed to be a sequel to the Last Knight?  The producers/writers all need to get together and get their story straight on where they are gonna take this franchise.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if the producer is just saying a lot of ideas they are thinking about and just seeing what type of online reaction they get. Also keeps the franchise's name in the headlines.

Whether we like Bumblebee or not, this franchise is not what it was financially some years back.

The way I interpret this statement is: Bumblebee was always intended to be a prequel to Transformers 2007 but after its success and/or as a result of feedback about prequel V reboot, the new movie they’re working on WILL be a reboot but they are going to still be able to tie Bumblebee into this new story even though it was intended as a prequel to tie in with Transformers 2007’s story.

I consider this good news! Although after reading the comments he made about the upcoming movies retaining the heart and character development of Bumblebee but will include more Bay-esque action(?), I have mixed feelings. I love the idea of taking my favorite characters in a new story direction but making them look more like the previous films is an idea I don’t love. I enjoy Bay’s military movie action skills but I really enjoyed being able to actually SEE the action scenes in Bumblebee without getting a seizure or migraine from the camera movements!

 

All of the different Batman and Superman movie universes are standing off to the side and laughing at Lorenzo right now.

You can call it whatever you want but you cant call it "G1 inspired" like Optimus and the others in the Cybertron scene. To me its all Bayverse. Maybe you see the final design as "soft Bayverse" similar to the "soft reboot" term tossed around. Its sugarcoating to the fullest.

 

Even Lorenzo has stated that bee is a reboot. At some point, you have to open your eyes and realize that it is. Hasbro said it, Lorenzo said it, the designs scream it. Its a reboot, there is no debate anymore. Everyone in hasbro and now Paramount has now made BB count as a reboot.
