Very underrated figure/accessory. Would've been great if an updated version could've been included here, or at least be given a Dinbot Island jetpack, especially since this guy actually has a flight stand. Of all the potential accessories this guy could've had, the I<3NY plate is at the bottom of the list for me. Even so, I still get a kick out of it, even if it does recall an awful AKOM episode!

My point is only that there is not much space in front of those arms, regardless of how they are attached to the back part of the car. If he fits in, then he really is pushed right up against the windscreen, and his legs are going to have to pike into the hood:

In the last picture you posted, of mid-transformation, it still looks to me as though those parts on his thighs are some sort of seat, though (a shame they are not pink on the inside if so!), so I am still hopeful that he really can sit inside - I'd be surprised if not, given everything. It's just much tighter than I would have expected, so I really want to see documentary evidence. :)

My mild concern is that TT is increasing MP prices across the board in a single step change rather than gradually, and that Sunstreaker dropped just before that happened. If he was being released for the first time this year, I fear he would cost more like $150-160 and that Bumblebee's price would make more sense (in comparison). Hound's price will be very telling.

I think people will be surprised by the price of Black Arachnia MP-46. I am expecting her to be 10000 Yen or less before Amazon pricing.

Yep. And to think at one point 3P MPs had the reputation of being more expensive. "The game done changed" as they say.

Now, now...he’s clearly singing “I’m a little tea pot...” :p

Absolutely right about potential accessories. Even a shoulder mounted tracker like he had in “Atlantis, Arise!” would have been fun. But maybe a little too fragile at that size?

Haha - I'm going to try my hardest to keep thinking he was caught scratching his pits! But your idea's way more compelling!

That's so cool! These MPs truly are a childhood dream fulfilled to every single detail then!

I don't know how close CHUG prices are approaching early MP ones, but we're already seeing great stuff in the former which we used to only see in the latter.

I think with MP-45's doors, they decided instead of placing cuts across the door like MP-21, they decided to use the natural line between the window and rest of the door to fold over. Definitely the reason they have to stay on the feet is because they are functioning doors. Were 'sacrifices' thus made to allow Spike to drive inside? Looks like it, though who knows how it would've looked if the doors had gone to his chest.

Personally I could live without the feature of Spike riding inside, but this figure gets so much right that I forgive it. It will be cute seeing Spike and Carly's heads behind the front windshield, actually.

Man, City of Steel gets so much flack hehe. It's one of the first episodes I watched when I was getting back into the show as an adult and I really liked it :lol
The animation is awful, but Megatron stealing Prime's head, his body being remade into a crocodile, these are all the whacky things that I love about the show! Maybe I should rewatch it, perhaps it's better in my mind than I remember. Or maybe I should hold onto the memory instead ;)

Agreed, a lab coat, a jetpack, things I guess might be included with a repaint? That doesn't seem to be the MP way anymore though.
That little timed mine Wheeljack gives him and Sparkplug in pt 2 of the pilot was my number 1 want. Ah well!

Thanks for doing the hard work with those images! I think they show that Spike definitely has room, he will sit a little higher than that, and his legs will be exactly 90 degrees. I think his thighs fold into his shins, so essentially the front of the shin will be his 'seat', and the thigh flap will be the 'seat back'.

That would've been cool to paint the inside pink if so :lol

I understand you and @onnsake want photographic proof, I hope you get it soon ;)

The heel might be a red herring. Also well hidden in all the shots are those empty, emtpy wheel wells on th side of the feet that bother me to no end.

Is this a optical allusion or do the rear wheels not have clearance to hit the ground before the rear floor pan in alt mode?

Noticed how they showed the figure in 360 in the first 10 sec? Must be all those salt getting in the way.

As for the Spike sitting inside thing, I only bring it up so much cause I've seen Japanese toymakers pull a fast one so many times with clever stock photography.

The ONLY pic we've seen is him "getting in/out" of an open door. That might be all he can do. If he really can fit in there, why no pic??

When this toy is released, and Spike fits comfortably in the driver's seat like in the cartoon, I'll happily come back here and admit I was wrong and foolish and you guys were all right and I'm a big dumb idiot.

But when the toy comes out and if the instructions have Spike standing next to an open door saying "Look at Spike inside Bumblebee!" I'll feel like it's just another in a long list of false advertising, or at the very least, "fudged truths" that Japanese toy companies sometimes pull.

I'm not really upset or anything, just very curious. So if you wanna see me eat crow, remember this and my other posts where I've said the same thing.

If I AM right however, I'm gonna gloat. Just a little.

I doubt he'll fit comfortably, which is why they haven't showed it. You most likely wedge him up in there before you finish the transformation. Not a big deal to me really, I think the doors opening in the first place is one of those "happy accidents" like Sunstreaker where the transformation leaves you with that option.

I don't think Spike will fit. Someone did an analysis of Spike's dimensions in a side profile shot of Bee, but I think the front picture is more important - his shoulders look too wide to fit inside the cabin.
