So basically he’s saying the next movies will be a re-sequel-boot-origin story? I mean that’s what we’ve gotten over the past ten years so just more of the same.

Romantic relationships between the robots.....that’s what he wants to explore? This buffoon is clueless about this franchise. What did we do to deserve this, Hasbro?

It made no sense seeing Dropkick and Shatter on cybertron to me. Like two different universes in one movie.

At this junction I'm beginning to think he's trolling the TF websites that report on this news anymore. Or he's very lost as an individual. Send him to the trebuchet!

First of all this isn’t even funny anymore. This is weird, and scary. It makes me feel like there is absolutely no control over this franchise whatsoever. Next week everything could change, hell with the way tfw news has been this could change in an hour!

I am 33. Watching the news growing up there is something funny that always happens. They report on coffee and say it is linked to good health. Wait 2-5 years and you will see a report on the same Channel saying coffee has been linked to cancer. Then in 2-5 years it’s different.

Let’s not make my favorite thing(Transfomers) coffee,
please! Treat this franchise with respect how about the people being interviewed just comment on plot ideas and characters and keep it bland. Stop pulling the coffee clickbait shit.

And Lorenzo, just stop. You produced a wonderful movie in Bumblebee, congrats. Take a lesson from 07’ prime and “stop lubricating the fans”

almost none of the plots have made sense in the original five movies and they often had barely any connection to each other. See how Galvatron returned to being megatron without any mention, merlin, or other things like that. The history of the films shows that the Bumblebee movie doesn't have to have the same facts as the others for them to be connected.

And really, we should see the g1 designs for what they were: an attempt to convince older fans to give the movie franchise another chance. Last knight did terribly and one of the easiest things to change with the Bumblebee movie (which was allegedly already in production with the same character designs from the older movies) was the computer animation. And it worked, look how many people on here love the movie just because they did G1 designs.

It could easily still be seen as a prequel if they said it was one, really just depends on what the company says it is. And it did still have the same feel, despite many people saying otherwise. Any humans other than Charlie were just as stupid as in the bay films (just self help books and paintball blasts to the face rather than drugs or masturbation jokes), the robots were just as fragile, and there were obvious attempts to mimic Bay's style in much of the camera work.

I mean...explicit romantic relationships between the robots has been part of the franchise since the 37th episode of the original series. And are a major element of the best fiction written in the franchise over the years (Beast Wars, MTMTE, etc.). Knowing that and being willing to explore it in a major motion picture is kind of the opposite of being clueless about the franchise.
