\"All that\'s really been said here is that future films will be a little more action-packed while retaining what made Bumblebee worked. Now if only he\'d just said that….\"

Agreed. But I think the fact he chose to emphasize \"Bayhem\" was purposeful to set execs and investors at ease.

In my opinion, the only reason that people did not go see this movie in as large as numbers as before is the general decline of interest DUE TO the Michael Bay movies. Adults were hit over the hammer time and time and time again that Transformer movies have humor and action that \"is not for the kiddies.\" Sales have been going down, down, and down. One of those \"fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, fool me 5 times and I\'m a moron\" situations.

So, yeah, Bumblebee was finally a great movie. But the taint of those other movies lingers in the minds of the audience and they avoided it. I\'m all for adding action. I\'m not for adding \"Bay.\"

Well, I enjoyed Bee. But, I will do my part and not watch the sequel like I did not watch TLK.

    Good day!

If this is the case, why does Hasbro let Lorenzo publicly contradict them, multiple times? He acts as if he's in charge of the project.

Okay, this man needs to learn how to communicate.

Here, let me rephrase what he said so that it is better worded. Tell me this isn't a better way to say what he was TRYING to get across:

"The Bumblebee Movie taught us a lot of things. In the past we made the mistake of being too focused on the action and this movie showed us what, frankly, the diehard fans have been saying for years: these characters have depth. They can carry a story. I'm sorry we didn't see this sooner but let me assure you that the lesson has been learned. Now the goal is to find the happy middle ground. There is nothing wrong with action and explosions and daring battle scenes. We had a couple in the Bumblebee Movie and people LOVED them. What we want for the next film is to strike an even stronger balance... to have the action people want without losing the character-driven narative. Our goal will be to have the movie still be about these robots but inject a bit more action in there... but have the action be driven by the characters and not explosions for explosions sake"

    much better indeed :D

You hit the nail on the head. The guy really needs someone to tell him how to word it properly, cause it seems to be getting missed by a decent amount of people.

We want a story driven narrative about robotic aliens on Earth first... Action set pieces are welcome, but we want to be entertained by the characters, not see them outrun explosions, or explosions leading to middriff camera shots.

Remember Tom DeSanto after the first movie... "Oh yeah we're working on a Sequel. it's going to have the Dinobots! Constructicons! more Seekers..." and when asked "Who's writing it...?" he flaked out and ended the interview.

I agree with this statement... And I don't particularly want to see Bay's way of action. A lot if his action "scenes" involve what is basically a 6 year old smacking toys together and pretending that theyre fighting, but with a lot more Erector sets involved. I liked some of their designs, but the action was all explosions and confusion. Action and fights can be done better than that, please avoid "Bayhem". Gimme something more like what they had in the first BB, or even from the Fall of Cybertron custscenes

"One of the things I want to do—and I hope we pull it off—is, we did it with Bumblebee because he’s so cute and he’s so accessible, but he can’t talk. I think the more human we can make these characters, the more people are going to like them.”

You know we could just finally do away with the radio talk thing...

Basically, most people working on these movies think way more than what reality and hasbro can do for them and get way too into it. They are almost like kids being in charge of it, so energized for new stuff but when they actually are called to do it, they can't.

Writers/other guys on project: " I want Dinobots, and seekers, and metroplex, and trypiticon!!!"

Hasbro: "sure thing Honey" (proceeds to ignore them)

I wish they had more executive input from Spielberg like they had in the beginning, or He took a more active role in the production like James Cameron had with Alita.
I remember watching the interviews coming into the first film production, it was as if Spielberg picked Michael Bay with the intent of making him grow up. "He's got a vision for action, and a talent for spectacle...but..." he needs to mature, He made the kind of movies he wanted to see, but at the same time he hated the franchise and it was reflected in them. Robots were segways to set piece explosions, and the scenes with Autobots were like watching a car commercial until there's a shot of the lead girl from an enticing camera angle.
The humor can be attributed to the writers, but even so a lot of the jokes were hit or miss, especially when they got to be too much human body humor or Shia LeBouf's Paul Giamatti impressions.

I would rather watch the robots acting funny in the Fish-out-of-water humor, say egging a car or TP'ing a house, compared to popping a drain plug and leaking coolant..
