I mean, I guess. All of the Warriors 3 dying was probably necessary, unfortunately (Also, don't forget about Heimdall), as was Odin's death. I'm not sure Odin could've served much more purpose, and they needed a way to bring in Hela.

I always kind of thought Thor's change in personality was kind of due to his time on Earth with the other Avengers. There were signs of his change before Ragnarok as well.

But I digress, either way I enjoy it.

I actually enjoy all three Thors. I think I prefer the first, but I probably prefer Ragnarok to Dark World.

I’ve always thought that if your gonna do an Optimus Prime movie then Batman Mask of the Phantasm would be a good choice for a reference, but instead of Batman & Andrea it’s Optimus and Elita. It be interesting to see Optimus/Orion start out as a softer less hardened character and then turn into his more stoic self as a result of his relationship with Elita being comprised due to them developing different ideals as the war worsens and Optimus struggles to maintain this relationship and being a commander.

Just another idea too I get what your all getting at with the Captain America comparisons, but personally I’d almost say that Gandalf might be a just as good comparison (if not better but let’s not get to debatable about that) I remember Gandalf actually admitting he was afraid  in the first  Hobbit movie and it actually occurred to me then what if we had Optimus reveal a secret fear of some sort and he has to learn to face it to better help those he cares for now that’s definitely relatable.

O one more thing what exactly does Lorenzo
mean by saying “Optimus Prime movie is like making an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, and it cannot be done.” I’m not sure I get what he’s talking about there could someone clarify?

I don't think you really understand Optimus Prime as a character. I have suggestion for you. Read some of the IDW comics that are OP centric. Get a feel for what kind of character Optimus Prime could be in a film if they cared enough to actually give him a character.

He doesn’t understand character development and is scared to add depth to a noble and wise character.

In all seriousness; He thinks “Optimus Prime is a character of few words...” (which is ironic because Bumblebee for the most part DOESN’T SPEAK in Lorenzo’s produced films.) “... and isn’t interesting on his own.”

Well, Disney made The Last Jedi and it sucked and it ticked off half of the Star Wars fan base. That half that was ticked off about The Last Jedi didn't even bother seeing Solo because they were still mad about Episode VIII, not to mention that no one wanted a Han Solo origin story. Solo bombed hard. Then Disney erroneously assumed that stand alone movies aren't anything fans wanted. So the Obi Wan movie that everyone actually wanted to see got shelved. All because Disney can't see their own faults. They have to invent bad excuses to explain away their failures.

Now that I think about it, I see many similarities in how absolutely oblivious Kathleen Kennedy and her Lucasfilm crew are about what fans wanted from Star Wars movies and how Lorenzo and Paramout handled the Transformers franchise.

I think Bumblebee is a little bit like Rogue One. It was a lone good movie made by a director who cared about the franchise, in spite of a studio doing everything in it's power to tank the franchise. They both were flukes in that somehow they turned out good despite everything going against them.

After Rogue One, I still had my hopes up about the Star Wars franchise. I won't make that same mistake with Transformers. I won't have high hopes for Transformers unless they bring back Travis and get rid of EVERYONE that produced the Bayverse.

I'm feeling the same way. Just fed up at this point, I don't understand why this continuity can't simply be rebooted like a half-dozen other things before.

If they're just going to keep trudging along until one of these movies flat-out bombs, so be it.

So, Optimus Prime is gonna play second banana to the Bee.  If they really wanna make a Lethal Weapon type movie, they need to ditch Optimus and put in a different character, maybe Cliffjumper, Wingblade, the  ice cream truck brothers.  It is \"prime time\" (get it), to introduce more characters beyond what was already shown.  Even a minibots-type movie would be good.  New characters are a good thing....using the same characters makes it boring.

Bit late to this discussion but I’m in agreement with everybody that have been saying to reboot the series already. It’s super frustrating at this point.

Transformers has such great potential and could be up there with Marvel, but the people at Paramount just can’t seem to get a grip. And all this miscommunication between them and Hasbro is just unacceptable.

First they say it’s a prequel, then it’s declared a reboot, now they’re retracting that statement and insisting it’s a prequel again. Seriously guys, get it together :banghead:

    This is just my opinion.
I can’t say I hate OP, but I mostly agree with you. Optimus prime is certainly very cool, but if you’re not showing me what he’s good at, wrecking decepticreeps, I can’t say he is a very interesting character.
I feel Cap fared so much better almost as a support char to his own movie. Cap is mostly good at punching things and doing the right thing, which as a stand-alone movie could be fun, but painfully one dimensional. In the subsequent movies, almost every other character that cap interacted with was more entertaining and interesting than cap himself. By civil war, I found myself dreading any cap scene where he wasn’t breaking things because of how boring his character was. Not saying he’s a bad character or that the movies were bad. some characters Jsut don’t have enough complexity to make a whole movie out of.
On that note, I seriously think an IDW Megatron anti-hero movie would be pretty fresh. the hero is only as interesting as the villain or conflict, so a story focusing on Megatron’s cause with Optimus hunting then down is so intriguing to me. Always found the deceptions more interesting and wanted to cheer for them. 2 easy 2 hate on deceptions

It's worth pointing out at a sequel doesn't have to be the same formula with the same director and so on. All that has been said it that a film that follows the events of TLK was in the works. What is for example of was being made with a new director and a new writer?

Yeah, I remember when Bumblebee was always Optimus's sidekick.

    Wait, what?

Fans don't appreciate the fact that this idiot still has anything to do with the franchise. There is only one way to end it, so do it. He doesn't get it, and will never get it. We don't need Lethal Weapon with robots, we need TRANSFORMERS. I told you this would happen. Time to wise up for all of us.

Man, I seriously hope Paramount goes bankrupt soon, because I will laugh my ass off.
How have Disney, Universal, and Warner Brothers all landed on (personal opinions/various minutia aside)
near perfect, fan-centric formulas for their franchise movies and these miserable sons-of-bitches at Paramount
are still confused by what they should do NEXT???

BUMBLEBEE has a 93% on ROTTEN TOMATOES.
    The Last Knight has 15%!!! F*&"##'$%( 15%!!!!!

AARRRGHHH! Learn math you f***ing morons!!!!

Next week hasbro will say the bayverse is dead again. Lorenzo has never told the truth about any of these movies. To have this blithering idiot be the mouth of the movies is a mistake. Last week he gets the bw guys excited knowing there was not a chance of a movie.

But Optimus came in 1987 in Bumblebee film while Optimus came in Bayformers 2007.

Every idea I’ve heard for the future of the live action franchise (aside from the animated prequel) sounds awful.
