Could've just called this "Yellow Rampage" but why deny the use of such a fun name like Skipjack? I am 99.9% sure Hasbro will make an official one like this later on, but I in the "ROTF Devastator needs a yellow leg" camp of people, so I made this fella just in case Hasbro doesn't do one themselves. Or makes it an exclusive that's hard to track down. Anyways, hope you enjoy Skippy here
I for one agree with you that the yellow looks a million times better than the red. As always amazing work.
Not sure if it's the yellow or the bits in between, but either way there's something about the repaint that works where it doesn't on the official when it comes to the leg. This is a nice custom, too nice, because now I want to see how Hasbro repaint figures I knew for a fact I was skipping.
Maybe it's just the fact that we've ALL seen a yellow bulldozer at one time or another (I used to work night security at a sawmill & walked next to one as often as possible for modding inspiration) - but red bulldozers are nowhere near as common. And now I gotta debate whether to buy Rampage in his original red - or just wait & see if there's a "surprise" repaint... Really, stellar work here though - very clean & it really appears stock.
That is one of the nicest, smoothest-looking paint jobs I've ever seen on these boards, and considering the countless nooks and crannies and greebles on this guy, that is damned impressive. Side note: "Skipjack" is a great name, but for me, the yellow ROTF bulldozer will always be BoneCramp.
The most impressive part of this custom in my eyes is that there is absolutely no red showing through the yellow. Beautiful work, as always.
On the contrary, I didn't initially realize this wasn't the official SS Skipjack, that's how great a job OP did on it.
