Bot mode looks great, but TW’s alt mode is still the best.

 

Seeing how Thomas is a physical prototype, I'm sure the train wheels are already on his body.

 

Here we go.....fuckin awesome, fuckin finally. Pleeease, put this fucker at the front of the line. If not, at least there's a train at the end of the tunnel (which wouldn't be a good thing in the real world, but is great in this case).

That is my intent/hope---should take like 30 secs in CAD, if the weight is a separate piece/section----"select, grab, move to the other side of the wheel, done".

 

Robot mode looks good, his alt-modes not so much...

Edit: The train mode looks the best until you get to the rear...and the shuttle mode looks quite bad from the front...

I hope they use a lot of dark metallic or gunmetal style paint mixed into all that grey to make it pop!

 

I am super stoked for this. I can probably close the door on my collection once I have him. I just hope his development is not as fraught as FT's Blitzwing. Hopefully this guy gets into production ASAP.

 

Although there's some things about this that do appeal to me, there's enough about it that doesn't work for my collection... he's much too short, and his alt. modes are full toon/toy. Realistic alt. modes are one of the most important factors in my decision, and whereas Chigurh is far from perfect in that area, its alt. modes look far more like real vehicles than this does.

I find it amusing that you're nitpicking the realism of tiny little details on the trains wheels, whilst completely overlooking the massive rocket boosters on the back.  

 

Good observation, but I always thought of them as "flywheels". But does it really matter on a rocket train!?

I hope another company give me another option... I want realistic alt-modes whenever possible.

 

Finally, and done right. One suggestion...

@dallianji...please please please include his Ionic Displacer Rifle (the very long gun) the that was included with the G1 toy. That will make this perfect.

Wondering if this design will die on the vine like Blitzwing did. Wasn’t he numbered in the 20s and here we have Astrotrain numbered 44.

 

Is it strange I want this more to happen than the release of this, most likely, delayed and far-from-real life accurate train mode?
