Just found both BB Prime and Rampage at the Normal IL Walmart! Unfornately there was only one of each, which I ended up taking. Though brickseek says they have 4 left, so there might be more in the back.

I just found Scrapmetal, Shatter, and Cogman at Walmart today in Orland. Hoping Optimus #38 shows up soon and I wonder why we haven't seen Soundwave or Starscream Seige yet in the southwestern suburbs.

Grabbed Voyager Rampage at the Golf Mills Wal-Mart, but that was the only thing of note on the pegs. The Touhy Wal-Mart east of the freeway was empty as usual, but I didn't check the one on the other side.

Edit: So I expected to be underwhelmed by Rampage, but I'm actually pretty into it as a figure. The articulation is indeed limited, but there's enough put into the design that you can still get some creative, dynamic posing with it, especially thanks to the stand. With some satisfying heft and mass, cool colors and detail, it's got real presence. I say bring on the rest of the Constructicons.

Went looking for SS Jetfire, Scrapmetal, and Rampage at lunch today- nothing. Went to Woodridge (63rd and 355) and Willowbrook (Rt. 83 and 75th) Targets, and 75th St Walmart.

Nothing really new, a few SS Sideswipes, a couple SS DOTM Megatrons, no new Siege figs.

Thanks for that. I'm wary of this guy too, but his alt mode looks great, and he has a lot of detail on bot mode from what I've seen online. If he had a ball-jointed connection to the base he could do more, couldn't he? The base would have to be bigger to keep him standing in more dynamic poses, I think.

Hmmm, maybe so! A couple hour drive might not be so bad. :thumb  Maybe I'd bring my MPs to sell. @dojatron how many dealers are usually there as a comparison to a large con like TFCon?

It's totally worth it in my opinion. If I had to guess I'd say there's somewhere in the ballpark of 20 dealers of varying sizes. Agabyss is the only online retailer that is consistently there, and there'll be Collecticon Toys @Reflector Prime this year as well. You have those dealers who are consistently at all the regional toy shows, and some guys like myself who are just trying to thin out the collection or sell extras of stuff because the tables are so affordable at $20 /ea. You had to sign up for tables during pre-registration, but you can try contacting them in advance if you definitely want to go. It's worth hitting up their fb group if you're interested.

I have plenty of criticisms of how they run it, however I realized I was getting worked up over something that is really just a glorified Wisconsin fan meetup that grew to the point of necessitating a hotel ballroom and now the Cow Palace (fittingly enough), which is a building on the Fon du Lac fairgrounds. Fred is basically Dairycon, without him there's no show. Lot's of interesting characters...

Im honestly surprised we (illinois people) dont try to do that yearly too. I have friends that rented ballrooms for gaming events and the price of the admissions + vendor tables usually covered that.

Remember a bunch of us made it to the old st charles tru parking lot years ago when botcon was in town (even in the rain) and that was a blast. Would be awesome to actually try to organize something legit if there was interest.

That's what PFcon is for! Took up the mantle from my PaulCon since I didn't have the time/energy to make it any larger, but Reflector Prime is really having a go at putting the word out for PFcon 2019 and has some killer exclusives to boot which I believe he'll have on display at Dairycon. I'm sure a rented ballroom space would be very doable, but you need someone dedicated and willing to put the time into organizing it which isn't easy to find. Sure you'd have a bunch of people willing to help initially, but then people start dropping like flies when the reality of actually putting in the work comes in.

Yeah, a ball-jointed stand would definitely be preferable, but I would imagine the engineering would take up more plastic than was budgeted. The included stand is kind of half-assed, though better than nothing. Fortunately, Rampage has a hinge joint at the "ankle," allowing for some back-and-forth posing on the stand, and if you have any Japanese figure stands like a Tamashii stage, that'll plug into a hole on his back and help out even more.

Has anyone found Seige Soundwave and Starscream yet in the southwestern suburbs? These two seem to be nowhere in the area. I haven't seen SS38 Prime anywhere either.

Getting a little worried that I'll never find SS Jetfire at retail again. Bought him on sight a couple weeks ago, but he was missing a tailfin. Haven't seen another one since.
