I like how this is shaping up.. literally, the idea of Forged to Finding Function takes what the first IDWverse started but does not go into the direct Political parallels.
I like how IDW 2.0 universe’s beginning could be considered an ideal to strive for in the IDW 1.0 universe. Kind of makes it feel like IDW 1.0 is a literal ancient history.
I like the in-universe quote at the beginning. It reminds me of something similarly done in the mtmte annual. Also while the art of rubble isn’t great the colouring and landscape here is splendid. Love that there is a dead titan moldes into the planet from the distant past, kind of like in Fall of Cybertron, although the concept of the deceased former generation being part of the scenery was never fully explored.
https://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2019/03/Transformers_01_2019-pr-11.jpg - what is that even??? Who is saying that? An abstract modern art piece???
You know, one thing I just noticed, for all her talk in the last continuity about how every Autobot and Decepticon was responsible for the war and post war violence, Windblade is actually here on Cybertron for the start of it all with nowhere to run. Hopefully she doesn't act self righteous about the war again.
Seeing as Megatron's labeling his political affiliation as "Ascenticons..." It would be a nice throwback if his Rally Speech will begin with "You are being deceived..."
I’ll admit I so far haven’t been the biggest fan of the new artistic style it has almost seemed a little too stiff, but that senic shot is absolutely gorgeous. Looking forward to getting into the new series tomorrow.
Hopefully I don't start a series of people bugging you for stuff, but if there's a cover gallery I'd appreciate a photo. Was holding out for this preview to have it and it doesn't and I'm still wondering about that Coller drawing.
Thanks, that confirms some stuff. It's definitely this issue, isn't advertised as a convention or other exclusive cover and seems to be between the Williams and the cover B so if anyone else is curious I'd guess it is what was solicited as the Durocher cover. At least I'll have some idea what to ask my regular store tomorrow and if I like the series enough will at least look at prices for the EJ Su cover, which I didn't know existed before now. Glad that after this the Roche and other existing TFartist covers seem to be As so that I don't have to do this every issue. Thanks again.
Don't get me wrong; watching someone laugh at something they've not fully understood is genuinely entertaining, but if you look a little bit closer you might actually see a figure standing on top of the 'abstract modern art'. If you're really struggling, the speech bubble is pointing to them.
