I think it’s in anticipation for the armor packs and historically, armored Valk sets get really expensive.

 

Ok, update to the SDF-1 post above. It's just about impossible to find the sticker sheet from what I can tell. It looks like I might have to get customs done. Soo...

Would anyone be willing to do a hi-res scan of their Matchbox (preferably) or Takatoku sticker sheet for the SDF-1 1/3000? I'd be willing to send Paypal over as a friend for the trouble.

If so, depending on the bulk I have to buy for customs, I'd be happy to sell sheets to anyone who needs them at a reasonable price (mostly to cover my cost and trouble to send each out.)

Thoughts?

 

If Bandai made a full armor pack for Hayate's 31J I might pick it up just to mess with it and also I like blue and white valks.  

 

OK so I think I changed my mind and want to get the armor upgrade after all. As with all things Macross, if I change my mind later I can always get my money back in the aftermarket.

Between NY and AE which should I go with? Anywhere else have it up?

 

I would recommend AE any day of the week. They delivered my 31A with no issues.

 

NY's shenanigans with Arad's 31s is total unnecessary fluff.. That's literally the price of the Karios or the Chronos.

I use both but prefer NY because they have lower prices and cheaper shipping options.

 

I've used both many times as well, never had problems with either. Just wasn't sure which is the safer bet for a TWE item.

 

As far as I know, neither has not delivered TWE items in the past. NY had that issue with the 31A taking a lot longer to send all the orders out but in the end they still delivered.

 

Yeah, Nippon Yassan are just capitol A holes with their price gouging. Guess I won't be getting an Arad after all.

Once the preorder listed it shot up. When the preorder date was announced they were still available on Manda but every hour they started to disappear pretty quickly. I caved and picked one up from Manda for 22k yen which I think was retail price.

Go with AE, they are a better service. You can also go with any proxy service like From Japan.

 

I'm gonna be visiting SoCal in a couple weeks, any recommendations for shops in LA, San Diego or Palm Springs I should check out? I'm on the lookout for Hasegawa models, Hi-Metal R, Arcadia and DX Chogokin figures

 

There are not any shops I know of to buy Macross items but I highly recommend you check out Frank N Son as it’s a collector’s haven.
There are a couple booths that carry some Macross but they don’t specialize in it so you have to keep your eye out.

 

Gotta go to Frank and Sons in City of Industry.

What Hi-metals are you looking for? I might have some extras.

 

Smaller destroids mostly, I've pretty much got all the VFs I need, as well as the Monster, Regult and Glaug

I'll definitely try to check that place out, I googled it, and I think I'll be able to make it on the saturday before I leave town

Item A/Box B for 6.4k yen - AmiAmi [Character & Hobby Shop]

 

It's a step up over all the DX Macross Frontier valks, primarily because it's got a more secure torso in battroid mode and much more secure legs(the hips use ratchets instead of ball joints). Out of all the Bandai new-mold DX valks since 2008, I like the recent DX VF-1 most with the either the DX YF-19 or DX VF-31 2nd to it. The DX VF-31 could've used better articulated hands and ratchets for shoulders but otherwise it's solid.
