The Takara TFC book releases are what got me back in to Transformers. Will always have a soft spot for those reissues!

I thoroughly enjoyed it as an origin film and as a film in general. Didn't expect it to be an Oscar winner but for what it was it did a great job.

 

I treat TFC's ST Commander as my Eugenesis Prime due to the size, henchness and sheer fucking Primeyness James Roberts presents the pre-Earth mode Marvel Optimus with.

There's so much in Commander's sculpt that I can fit into the above, the vehicle can easily pass as Cybertronian and I love being able to apply this to one of my favourite renditions of the Autobot leader. Marvel Prime. Dragged through time.

Just curious if anyone remembers the prices of TLK Dragonstorm n TR Overlord in Smyths? Any info would be great!

I'm currently debating getting a 2nd Rodimus Unicronus; i tried to fix a tabbing issue in my current one, but buggered it rather badly - so i kinda might need to get a new one

 

As a film I found it far more enjoyable than Black Panther, which currently sits for me just above Iron man 3, Thor 2, and Ant Man. Captain Marvel is an excellent Popcorn movie, and what's I expected it to be.

Smyths Overlord was £44.99! (well at Leeds it was)

Also I noticed while doing this that the small red blasters are just slightly retooled versions of Sideswipes blaster, only differences being the color and the length of the peg on the back

 

Urgh... at the rate this is going, I'm going to be in America and find these at a Wal*Mart before HasbroUK releases them... And that'll be in May.

Hell, I might even find Wave 3 at that point  

 

Well, Lads, seeing as I was heading into town ridiculously early (due to Sunday bus times) for my shitty sunday afternoon Matinee door shift, I swung by my local model shop on the off chance and discovered Victrix Ltd.'s line of 28mm Historical Wargaming miniatures, and I believe that I might just have found the ideal noggin or two with good potential.
Amusingly they're in the "Naked Gallic Fanatics" set.

Captain Marvel!

It's very very okay.

I liked the characters enough, Bendelson was great especially, nice to see him in a 'good guy' role for a change. Brie was good as Danvers, politics around her aside. I've no idea why she's been called 'flat' and 'emotionless', she had some great moments. Her recoiling back from her own power at the end and looking at her hands in wonder was a particular highlight.

Fury's sight loss was stupid, but I saw it coming (unintended) a mile off so whatever. Also a little heavy handed with the "hurr durr men are bad" at points? ('Cock'pit? Really?)

My main concern is her seemingly limitless, no-consequence power, and how that's actually going to fit into Endgame. Speed of light travel within half a day of discovering your power? Imagine what she can do in 30 years. Thanos could be dead before he even knows she exists, and with her arriving so early given the post credits scene, it looks like she's going to be around for the majority of the film. I want some payoff for our main heroes, I hope she's not just a deus ex machina for resetting the status quo.

Overall, a solid addition. My main gripes involve her immediate future in the story, hopefully my worries will be put to rest next month!

That is in fact the least of what can happen to a woman in the armed forces IRL, dick-swinging literal and metaphorical is often a tool of bullying, the vulgarity is part of the attempt to offend because women are not permitted to be vulgar they way male banter allows. You might find it heavy handed but the sad truth of the matter is that even now, today the film is really true to women's lived experiences. It's not "hurr durr men are bad" it's that the structure of our society permits, enables and encourages men to think they have a license to behave a certain way. "Boys will be boys."

 

Sorry but I have no idea if that would pass as “damaged goods” enough for a shop to exchange. As long as you have the receipt there’s no harm in asking.
