Me too. I was considering getting the recent Black Mamba OSKO MP Nemmy-P too.

 

So fucking bought.

 

Boring.

 

Ehh I’m kinda still feeling mad. I like the flames but this just doesn’t excite me the way it should. If this was a fire guts Ginrai and had some surprise bling with a bright and vibrant deco I would love it. Or even something kinda real world yet dull like a 7-11 Prime. I dunno I just feel underwhelmed.

 

I'm seeing a 50/50 split as to if people are happy about this or not. Personally I'm pretty let down. Do i think that a nemesis evasion prime is a bad idea? Not at all, point for point i think its been done fairly well. The thing that gets me is what its promoting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the reasons people loved the Bumblebee movie was its tonal departure and separation from the Michael Bay movies. This is now the live action movie people have been wanting, compared to the Bayformers movies. For that reason alone, I'm a little chapped we are getting a repaint of a very, VERY Michael Bay designed Optimus Prime promoting the movie who in some circles is a celebration of the departure from those very films.

Like, we have the ss-38 prime! Why not do a nemesis paint of that? All of this just seems a little cash-grabby to me...

 

Well I can forgive the design but I see what you mean. Regardless it looks like a fun toy. And if we wanna think about it the bay films can’t “hurt” us anymore. So this is just some stuff or such. A nemesis of SS-38 would be great as well and I’d prefer that over this.

 

I wanted that one, and didn't thoroughly research the possibilities for getting one until it had already reached ridiculous eBay prices.

I skipped that one because I prefer teal on my Nemeses Prime instead of purple.

Fire Guts Ginrai would have been a cool alternate idea, but I don't think it would have grabbed me quite as much as the classic black and teal. Eagerly waiting for preorders on sponsor sites....

 

Now as far as ordering this through a middleman/proxy service, does this Nemesis here have the same limitation that 7-Eleven Convoy had of needing to in-store in Japan to pick up your order?

 

I think the black and teal is great. But I think it’s the grey that ruins it. Like if they just filled a couple spots with red or some darker silver it would look better to me.

 

Not gonna lie, I would have been more excited for a SG deco, but this is okay too.

 

Another year, another Nemesis Prime repaint.  

Exciting = something that arouses enthusiasm and eagerness (i.e. a new experience)

Boring = causing weariness and restlessness through lack of interest (i.e. same experience over and over)

I think you can set your calendar by Nemesis Prime exclusive releases - they're that consistent.  

 

Oh. You mean the typical Hasbro Unpainted Light Grey Plastic (HULGP for short, to represent the sound of disgust it causes in the back of the throat) that screams "THIS IS A TOY!!!" at the top of its lungs? Yeah, it's kind of off-putting. But I can tolerate it on something like this.

Hmm. Purple with lime green flames? That would be an interesting choice. Not as popular, probably. But very interesting....

For that matter, the inverse, lime with purple flames, could make an interesting Toxitron. Maybe someone should start a petition* to have at least one repaint in either orange, green, or purple for every Optimus Prime mold that has a repaint in black.

I'd pick that up if I were in Japan and needed coffee and a fill up.

 

I mean it’s not even the toy aspect. It just doesn’t excite me. Like if just the grey parts in the arm were done in a sick red it would look so much better.

Oh hell yeah that would’ve been incredible.

I was also thinking toxitron would be cool.

i 100% agree, at the end of the day it just means we have more stuff on the market, and a group of people got a product they were hoping for. More stuff out there means more options for everyone! Thats never not a bad thing. Just weird picks for bumblebee promotion.
