Well, my reissue replacement arrived today. Here’s hoping tonight’s unboxing gives me tears of joy heheh. Edit: Just cracked open my new one, and he’s practically perfect from head to toe.
Question: Where are people getting these reissues? And where is the most affordable? I see the reissues vary in price from about $70 to $120
Just checked my tracking on SAL and mine arrived today! (admittedly I'm more excited by the Spider-man figure in the box with him). However my SAL experiment shows it only took 13 days. I wonder if I'll have the will power to get Megatron sent SAL.
Finally got home (almost a hour late...bloody Thameslink/Network Rail/Chris Grayling) and having inspected my reissue Primal I am very happy to report he is very nearly flawless! A little stress mark next to one pin and a couple of tiny blemishes but over all pretty much spot on. His shoulder pads sit flush without any tampering (unlike the original) and all face plates are perfectly painted. THUMBS UP where thumbs up are due TT!
Picked up a reissue at a local show, love the new shoulder fix, but I'm wondering what it is they fixed exactly? My v1 definitely doesn't close over like the new one but I'm struggling to see the difference and why my V1cant close the same. Can anyone shed some light for me?
Heh...well no...its not. I'm growing a bit sick of this being misunderstood and misreported by lazy assumptions....so against my better judgment I took my original and reissue's shoulders apart to demonstrate it is a remoulding. @Predaking EX you'll be interested in this. These show the outer half of Primal's upper arm (that sits below the shoulder pad). Reissue on the left, original on the right. As you can see the recess that allows the shoulder joint to move within this piece is moulded differently. NOW, I modified my original (using @maxxzander's post here Minor/Repaint: - MP32 Optimus Primal Gorilla Arm Panel Fix ) to allow the shoulder pads to sit flush by removing some of the plastic. So the below images shows the areas I removed so you have a better idea of how the original looked. I hope this finally puts this to bed? The things I do for you guys.
Mine arrived, 14 days via SAL so not great but better than usual rates of progress have been from NY and Ami Ami lately. First look-over and it seems to be pretty much perfect. Happy.
Nope. It’s strickly a Takara Reissue. You’d be looking for the Hasbro Asia reissue. That comes with the coin .
Not really. The chosen prime has the coined version as well as BBTS. I suggest looking on eBay though , as both those retailers are pretty expensive. OR try furthering your search on AJ. Not sure if they would have it . Definitely shop around .
Just a quick question...is the Primal masterpiece currently being sold on Amazon Japan the reissue with the shoulder pads fixed?
Fuck no. When AMJ offers shipping to your country you take that price immediately. It’s rare for AMJ to sell directly. It’s even rarer for AMJ to offer special prices. Two ‘maybes’ stacked on top of each other make a ‘probably not’. My point friend is this is a pretty good deal *edit. I paid around 11,000¥ On AMJ 2 weeks ago. And it’s on AMJ for just over 9,000¥ right now isn’t it? That’s already cheaper than it’s ever been. Am I missing something here?

I did the same. My new second copy will be gorilla prime. My first release will be in bot mode. They look neat side by side.
thanks for your feedback! ill go ahead and grab him then since i was so impressed by beast wars megs and think the two leaders at the very least should belong together. quick followup question if you guys don’t mind: not being a beast wars fan, do you think cheetor is worth it? i’m not sure if i want to be a completist for the mp beast wars line. i watched a bunch of video reviews but still can’t decide lol. thanks!
