This is why I hate these kinds of threads. Just an excuse for people to trash someone who gives out free content.

PS: And that's something coming from a poster who doesn't watch optibotimus videos.

PPS: There are already threads like this one. not sure why we needed another one.

Long story short, he doesn't take criticism (or comments, for that matter) very well. He's extremely argumentative and abusive to the point of name-calling his viewers.

He's very pompous, he's rude, he's got an ego the size Texas.

He tweeted that one of the companies threatened to take away his sponsorship because he was reviewing 3rd party items. It wasn't Hasbro or Takara, so I'm assuming the company meant competition rather than the 3rd party we know.

It's not free, though. He uses viewers via Patreon, he literally asks for handouts and he gets ad sense, on top of being cruel to his viewers.

So, whether or not you pay a dime, someone else is.

This is why I hate machines!

Patreon!?! How the hell did these reviewers con their viewers in to sending them money and in some cases boxes and boxes of free stuff. Wow!!!

I guess one could make the argument that their reviews help some viewers save more money than they pay them because after seeing reviews they know which toys not to buy...

Unfortunately, I don’t really find any of the “timely” reviewers all that interesting or engaging. If I’m desperate, I’d likely go with Baltmatrix.

I actually agree with the person who brought up Wotafa. He’s very timely (with the caveat that he doesn’t necessarily cover everything as far as mainline TFs are concerned), but I love his enthusiasm and the very systematic way he transforms toys, despite that fact I can only understand the bare minimum of what he’s saying.

Yeah. That lands in my "fuck off" zone there. Sponsors are nice but you're tied to specific rules. If he was bellyaching about sponsors pulling out well that's what happens when you break the rules.

His enthusiasm is addicting. Plus I like looking at non TF stuff too.

I only watch peaugh because it's almost entirely no-nonsense. I don't want to be entertained; I just want to see if the toy is going to be too much of a hassle to transform. I can figure out from pictures if something looks good. Having someone know not to waste time (both their own and the viewer's) is something more Youtube reviewers need to learn.

A lot of my purchases in the past year have been inspired by a combination of Emgo, Thew, and Baltmatrix. Especially for older releases.

Emgo is damned good at what he does. Gives you everything you need reviewing a figure.

    Peaugh is good as well.

    The others, meh.

Way back when I first started really getting into Transformers, I would watch a lot of Baltmatrix, Optibotimus, and Peaugh. Usually in that order. But Balt and Optibotimus have both kinda fallen off the deep end and I have a tough time enjoying anything they review anymore. Peaugh is still okay but I just generally gravitate more towards Emgo and Benscollectables these days. Emgo gives you pretty much everything you could want out of a figure review, and he reviews pretty much every official figure and a ton of 3p and ko. I'll usually skip the beginning and ends and just watch his transformation, articulation, and comparison parts of the review because he does those better than just about anyone else. But whenever Emgo hasn't reviewed a figure yet or isnt going to, then I go to Ben because his reviews are really good too. So Emgo and Ben are pretty much the only two I watch these days.

    ATM, my picks are:

    Emgo
    BSF
    Peaugh

Its not if they recommend it, but the description, which suffices to give me a feeling whether I'll like a figure.

Its usually whoever I manage to stumble on.

Peaugh, Emgo, Benscollectables (even his KO one as well), Paik, Thew.

I'm starting to go for Sun of Empire, wotafa, Windcharger, Kevin Liu, Pancrazi, Luchite.

I might have fudged up a few if the member's spelling along the way.
