I think a friend of mine went to an MG concert in Tokyo. I looked into it myself but ticket prices were a bit too rich for my blood.

7 years later. Still not holding.

But at least Uwe Boll is not involved in it.

Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh...Kojima quirk is a very aquired taste, bordering on experimental indie style in so far as movies go, because Revolver Ocelot alone basically ends up trying (and I think succeeds even) in trying to convince the Patriot AIs running the planet that ghosts exist. Because they do, if The Sorrow and Psycho Mantis prove anything in that one MGS4 cutscene following Screaming Mantis's defeat.

That said, the writer for Detective Pikachu is on this now, and that film absolutely paid proper homage to its franchise (something that adaptations usually don't do). If anyone can pull off writing a live action Psycho Mantis battle adaptation, it's that guy.

In all seriousness, if Abrams was to translate any game to a movie, you'd get the most literal adaptation ever. He's not very creative. Might not be a bad thing for this kind of a movie.

JJ is always trying to wedge his way into everything and get a contract in someway for bad robot. That is why you usually see him smoozing with someone and getting a contract with some company or another before he is even close to finishing his current project. If it isn't for a movie, I could see him trying to get involved in a game. This is how he keeps going he always has a multi million dollar contract with a different studio before his previous project bombs or is run into the ground.

Unfortunately, I disagree, since there are some elements in MGS that are more confusing than really necessary.

For example; the cyborg ninja. Gray Fox is probably THE most 'why is this even here' element of the entire plotline, since if you excise MG2 (very likely since not a lot of people know that Metal Gear had a sequel before MGS), he contributes very little to the plot beyond cutting off Revolver Ocelot's arm (which could easily be modified into Ocelot's gun simply jamming and exploding since he literally only uses Colt Peacemaker revolvers). Gray Fox just shows up wanting to kick Snake's ass, predictably fails, and then shows up again later to essentially sacrifice himself in a very drawn out sequence to disable REX's radome and essentially give his life story explaining his relationship to Naomi, all of which could be cut with really not a whole lot of impact to the story.

Or just the entire concept of Les Enfant Terribles.

And we know he can make his voice close to David Hayter's, but must be his Batman Begins voice, not The Dark Knight. (at 0:50)

Bay might be a good choice for this, with his support for the military. And the Bayverse films have shades of techno-thrillers.

I don’t think Bale would have to get too muscular to be Snake, but it is worth noting that he said he is done transforming his body drastically for roles after Vice in the interest of his health. Granted, getting in shape to play Solid Snake would be healthy, but I’m not certain if he would be interested in that.

Yeah, he's already ruin a great intellectual property. He would don the same thing with metal gear.
