I really need to stop buying replacements hahah. I got my reissue today, and (much like my second MP-22) he has a defect! The left side of his torso is warped and has lifted off the pin at top. I noticed it in beast mode, but thought that transformation might help move things into place (I’m an optimistic guy!). Yeah, nah. I’ll see if Amazon JP will help out with this...
What's your issue exactly? So long as you swing the back section down and the beast chest forward enoygh to give both heads plenty of clearance it's a doddle. Ack that sucks! I hope Amazon can sort you out with a replacement.
Thanks BG (hope you don’t mind the abbreviation!), I’ve been in touch and they are sending another one out as we ‘speak’. I have to send the defective copy back and they will reimburse postage, so will see how we go!
I haven't heard anyone else suffering this issue. My original one certainly doesn't have such problems. Would you be able to contact the seller and get it replaced at all? I hate seeing this stuff, it really knocks my faith in TT's quality control. They really have no excuse to make these kinds of mistakes.
I bought from amazon jp. Their customer service is best so far. They will send new replacement set but we need to return the defect set. They will bear all the return shipping cost. A bit troublesome but i can’t live with that type of paint apps on the faces lol
I’ll have a look later and let you know. Fortunately this is only my third dud MP in six years of collecting the line, but I can’t say I’m thrilled hahah. Hopefully the replacement doesn’t have any issues.
Great pics Sam! I can’t tell from the angle. Do your shoulder covers go all the down in beast mode? I’m looking for more evidence that they are fixed for the reissue. I’m assuming the MP-32 sold by Amazon Japan right now is the reissue? I’m considering buying a second copy just for the shoulder fix but I’m not sure it’s worth the effort of selling my first copy. Does anyone know if MP-38 has the fixed shoulders? I’m assuming no?
Thanks PG! The shoulders seem just fine, when they're closed properly there's only a tiny bit of white showing. No experience with how it was on the original run, but as has been described, they kind of 'squeeze' shut at the right point. They do pop out of that squeezed position though when the arms are pushed right close to the body, since the shoulder pads don't click that low.
The pointed parts of the chest flap would snag onto the bottom of the panel under the robot mode head. If I try to push it out using the gorilla head, then the pointed parts would just go in deeper. I usually have to use a tool to nudge the pointed parts free before I can flip the chest out. It's not a big deal but it is annoying.
Hummm....i don't find it to difficult to get the beast chest plate out, I can usually get a finger nail behind the pointed corners. I find if you position things like this you can swing the robot head forward and into the chest cavity whilst brining the gorilla head from behind with no issue. Oh dear.....
Oh dear indeed haha! As much as I love MPs, I think it’s important to share the good and not so good, as constructively as possible. Many a time I’ve been saved an unfortunate moment with a MP thanks to other people’s experiences, whether by being mindful of a certain step in the transformation, or knowing which retailers to avoid, to ensure you’re looked after. My replacement reissue has been shipped, I’m hoping to have it by the weekend.
My original Primal was like that, it was a lot harder to get those chest pieces moved to transform. My newer seems to be easier to able to manipulate.
Just Ordered from Amazon for 97 USD shipped (includes extra import costs to Canada, which was an extra 10$). Was that a good price? It is 125USD from TFSource, before shipping, so at least it is 28$ less than MSRP of that... This is my first MP Beast Wars figure...
