Dude, you have to stop posting useless ass post cause it's targeted and not really a flash sale for like 90% here.

I never seem to get eBay bucks so those promotions are worthless to me.

To be fair, it's at least in the discussion and commentary thread...

Probably a dumb question, but I assume you're signed up for eBay Bucks?

Yeah, they just never materialize. I'm really used to very little software working so I just don't bother wasting my time with offshored tech support.

The only loyalty a collector should be loyal to is the best price. Ebay with its various sales of the past two years offered the best prices on items we were going to buy anyway. In today's market there is no more building a relationship with a seller, it's buy from the cheapest, be it Amazon, Ebay, or a direct retail seller. Also, if it is true that Ebay does not charge Asian sellers fees, that loss of revenue is the fault of Ebay. I do not sell, but do think it's is unfair that Ebay charges roughly 20% in fees (PayPal fees included) to everyone else, while Asian sellers pay nothing.

Now that eBay has apparently shit-canned the flash sales...probably no need for alert threads anymore anyhow. Have to start an eBay bucks alert thread...

What's this? Is this true? Somehow, I find it a stretch...

They obviously charge some sort of seller fees. Otherwise there's no point. Are they way lower than they are for other countries? That's entirely possible since a lot of sellers in Asia are dealing in high volumes.

I see your point. eBay bucks should have its own main thread and commentary thread.
Never say never. Yeah we haven't had a flash sale yet this year but we have no official statement from ebay saying they are no longer offering flash sales.

That’s silly. this thread has evolved naturally into an eBay sales/offer thread by the users. No need to cater to one person whining, and whining irrationally at that, about that evolution of this thread.

is not whining, this thread was for "flash sale" which was able to be used for all, the ebucks sometimes are even targeted, why do we want to be notified about something we dont use?

Targeted sales are still good for some/many. Sure, sucks if you're not one of them, but thems the breaks. It's like Aussie eBay deals...sure, it doesn't do me any good when there's an Aussie sale, but the Aussies still likely appreciate the heads up.

Key word being “was.” It has evolved to something new — flash sales plus additional eBay deals.

It isn’t as if we are talking about Target and Walmart sales in an eBay thread. It’s certainly whining.

Never mind the fact this is a discussion and commentary thread. Discussing eBay promotions, targeted or otherwise, is relevant and on topic. The point was to avoid getting alerts for random eBay discussion in the sale alert thread. If you're talking about eBay, it's on topic here. If you're posting targeted buck promotions in the other thread, then fair enough, bitch away...but random eBay discussion was kinda what this thread was made for.

    Ebay:
Also, I think ebucks is relevant to those interested in flash sales. My understanding is that ebucks promotions (targeted though they may be) very rarely overlap with flash sales even back when both were more common. eBay probably doesn't want folks to "double dip" on the discounts. That means if there are long-running ebucks promotions happening, then there's little chance of a flash sale also popping up. It you have an important purchase you'd like a flash sale for but don't want to risk missing out on if one never materializes, this is useful information to have. At least, that's been my anecdotal experience, having watched these patterns over several years. Though, if someone has better documented evidence, that would be interesting to hear too.
