"Holy crap. There's eeyore. And the main man lobo?!"
    :bay

Yeah. So 3 transformers actors played eeyore. That's pretty cool. I'll be back after I grab a mop to pick up this brain goop everywhere.

Keeping interesting TF history a secret benefits no one and is exceptionally selfish and greedy, not to mention pointless. Seems a shame to see Hasbro-style practices taking over some in the fandom. Seeing it in person is worthwhile certainly, but the fact this stuff remains under wraps like some dangerous virus that the public can't know about is not endearing to the rest of the fandom.

If I owned a piece of TF history, the pics would be posted because why not share what's intersting? Aren't we all here to enjoy TF? How can fans expect to know the history and context of what they love when their own comrades hold things back from them?

I find it strange that TFwiki has almost nothing on TFNation.
Especially with that animated "finale" comic. It warrants more mention.
Each Botcon year got its own page, but TFNation doesn't even have its own article. Is this some kinda bias or is it not as "official" somehow?

Knowing one of the people involved and knowing who he knows, we're probably talking about stuff that was given on the grounds pictures aren't posted online lest somebody lose their job. A lot of these unreleased product panels work on that basis.

TFNation is a fan-run event like TFcon. It's not official.

Doesn't stop other unofficial things from having their own pages there.

Ahh I love posts like this. I’m even going to take the time to respond.

I’m Paul Hitchens, I’m the guy doing the panel. I’m also known as The Spacebridge.

I’ve been collecting for over 20 years, I was chasing down ex Hasbro and Takara staff in the 90’s looking for information and materials relating to G1. Check out www.spacebridge.net it should route you to my Facebook page where I post loads of rare photos and videos. I used to be a regular face at Botcon from the 90’s to late 2000’s and I did a few panels at Botcon. I also did the commentaries on the Sony movie DVD and provided the extras.

So now you know who I am

So nice of you to call me “selfish & greedy”, ironically in response to an announcement I am SHARING stuff in a panel. I got exactly the same complaints when I did a panel at Botcon with a photo block.

Yes, I have a vast collection of unseen Transformers material and I don’t share it all online and I’ll explain why now. For starters there is already a fair bit of unseen stuff on my Facebook page as I have said, I actually share a lot more than others out there. Trust me, there are many guys with AMAZING unseen stuff they share with nobody online.

You have no idea the time and money involved in gathering this stuff. The weeks and months spent tracing the staff involved in the toys or the movie or the comic. Then once you have found the person then agreeing to buy what they have. I’ve bought handfuls of paper before for thousands and thousands of dollars. I’ve literally flown across the world to pick up something. The value in a lot of this paperwork is the fact it is unseen or its provenance. I’m not going to be buried with this stuff, at some point I will be selling it. I’m not going to destroy the value of it by posting it online. That’s my choice to make. Equally if I decide to publish everything in a book one day there is no point it all being online already. I DO want to share this stuff with fans, that’s why I invite people to my home to see it or I do panels like this at the show. I could quite happily leave it all locked up in my safe not showing anybody. I’ve not bought this stuff to make money on it, trust me there are FAR better ways to spend thousands of dollars with the intent to make money on it at a later date. I do it as I love Transformers.

If you had spent the hours and dollars gathering this stuff, I’m sure you’d be ready to give it all away for free, would you?

I get complaints on Spacebridge about my large watermarks on pictures. Would you rather I didn’t share it at all? Why shouldn’t I protect my assets? Even with the watermarks my pictures are taken and used without credit on other sites all the time.

I block pictures at the panel for many reasons. To protect my property as I have said above. Also I will be using images given to me in confidence. Plus I don’t want grainy poor quality images to get out of this stuff, I’d rather share it in all its HD glory on my page.

Most importantly, why shouldn’t the people there have an exclusive? What’s wrong with them seeing something first?

“Afterburner” if you don’t like any of this, step up, spend YOUR time and YOUR money to find this stuff then share it online.

    Hitch

I gotta say I do find it amusing that Roberts is there despite not writing tf anymore and seemingly not being that interested in writing it again. I'm not mad at him or throwing shade or snark or anything, I just genuinely find it funny.

In fairness last year he couldn't talk about the Lost Light finale as it hadn't been published, so this year could be good for shedding more light on the decisions behind the finale.

Yeah, he did say in his ama that he has ideas for another transformers series, but he doesn't know if it'll happen.

Nick Roche shared at last year's TFNation he'd been working on a series that was intended to be short stories - generally a 12-15 page story with a 6-8 page backup strip. The idea was to tell stories from all eras of Transformers - with the shorter strips used as a way to get different creators to do some Transformers stories.

It sounded like an extremely cool idea the way he explained it and I'm really disappointed it never came about due to the end of IDW's current Transformers continuity.
