I actually like barricade way more than I thought I would. It might be the purple and guns. Also he is absolutely a smokescreen pretool. But he does look really nice.

And the micromasters are cute.

 

This Barricade has nothing to do with Micromaster Barricade who was a hot blue and hot pink formula one racing car. Siege Barricade is clearly movie Barricade in the G1 continuity.

 

I have been dying for a G1ish Prowl like take on Bayverse Barricade.. I honestly never much cared for the G1
MMs so this is great.

 

Woah. Who knew that all you needed to do to make me like that Prowl mold was to make it black and purple and give it hood guns? That is a sexy Deceptibot. I might have to add that to my \"Get\" list.

 

Count me in the camp that thinks this is a Smokescreen pre-tool.

 

would love it if they repainted Barricade’s weapons in red/silver and used them as cybertron defense hot shot’s guns. Would work as a double homage as he could wield them as an armada style blaster.

 

The artwork for 35th bluestreak has the shoulder cannons, so there’s no need to move them from barricade to bluestreak

Prowl didn’t have them in the cartoon, the bot modes are based more on the cartoon tha. Anything else

Not even a pretool, more like a pre-paint, smokescreen doesn’t need any different parts from barricade

I know it's a different continuity but I keep thinking "Damn Barricade looked pretty sexy before the war. What happened that messed his grill up so badly..."

 

Barry looks better than Prowl, but he still isn't really doing much for me.

The other Autobots never let Smokescreen forget the couple of years when he was a Goth.

Have I been remembering incorrectly for this entire time? I dunno. Prowl looks so incomplete without them for some reason, but I guess it puts more diversity between the Datsun trio(well, 4 now). Didn't Prowl also have them in the comics for IDW? I could've sworn he did.

You can just tell that the head for Barricade is gonna be used for Smokescreen.

 

I hope we here more about 35th anniversary line and generations selects over next couple of days. 

 

I'm amazed people are flipping out on Barricade because he looks like an evil Prowl. Except G1 Barricade hasn't been popular since the 2007 film and the breath of new life gave him a new look for everyone to gawk and stare at because *GASP* he acts like the inverse of Prowl just like his bio and not the awful yellow, purple and red he was sporting. Plus his reintroduction means their is more chance to have a Micromaster version later on but for now the G1-ified Movie-ish IDW-eh Barricade is here and flaunting it.

Give Hasbro and Takara the decency to base him off of a very popular comic designer's work so be somewhat grateful guys.

And a hot take; it looks incredibly dated. Like if the T-1000 was dressed to go clubbing at a gay bar.

I really like that Barricade. He brings back memories of playing him in War for Cybertron years and years ago (especially with that translucent purple part on the wheels). I kind of wish the head was a bit different, it looks a bit too Prowl-ish. Still, I might consider picking him up if I run across him.

 

Oh snap. Now I may have to get a Barricade and commission a Radicon to give it a Batman repaint
