At least your Walmart not only still has Optimus Prime G1 reissues, you've got the Mimban Stormtrooper too!!!

 

Outside of Megatron and the Micro/Battlemasters, I have yet to see anything else in the stores I frequent. Everything else I've acquired through BBTS or Amazon. Botbots is the only line I've been able to complete via brick and mortar.

 

I just picked up these dudes at Walmart in Cedar Falls, Iowa. That’s in the northeast part of the state. They only had the one set on the shelf.

 

Ah.... To be a Transformers fan living in Iowa... Sure, your life sucks because you live in Iowa, but you do get Transformers slightly faster. So at least you have something to live for!!!

 

I'm very surprised that Iowa got these First, usually I hear it from California, Texas or Florida, how are these getting in to the country? Cali and Texas have major airports, sea port, Mexico linkage etc How did they get to Iowa first? Air Port?

 

They’re probably coming by way of Arkansas where Walmart’s central warehousing is?

 

Looking over the list on this page, I see one DC (distribution center) in Iowa and also a couple in Wisconsin and Illinois, which are relatively nearby. I imagine one of those DCs gets in a big shipment of product, then some gets loaded on to a semi that drops them off at whatever stores happen to be on its route that day.

Given that, hopefully over the week the coastlines should be seeing appearances. I'm in the PNW, and Walmart hasn't stocked ANY in weeks. I'm keeping a close eye for Soundwaves appearance.

I missed Shockwave, I'm determined to catch this waves releases. Hasbro, get on the ball.

I'm kind of bummed that Soundwave doesn't seem to have a proper hidden tape deck mode, or even a decent fan-made mode. Voyager would be the perfect size to do something like that, but they kind of blew a great opportunity right here. I really like the robot aesthetics of this version, but unless someone figures out a good tape deck mode, this version of Soundwave will be an easy pass for me.

 

I really didn’t want to jump straight to “coastal elitist”. And as “cool” as some of those cities are you have to seriously pay me to live in most of them.

 

Thats the greatest thing I’ve seen all day.  

 

Out of the 4 Walmarts and 3 Targets I go to I have seen 0 Ultra Magnus or Shockwaves, maybe 1 or 2 Optimus and Megs, and a very thin amount of the Deluxes. The only consistent is the Micro and Battle masters, but not the Micromasters I want

 

Some Walmarts no longer stock leaders and voyagers. As in, there is no place on the shelf as they don’t want to order any.

 

My post was really half joking, but I understand the position to a degree. For me, I wouldn't trade it for the concrete jungle that is NYC or the high cost of living that is L.A.
