My issue with the Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime is the outdated altmode.

    YouTube (Legacy):
Is it really outdated if the alt mode itself fits the time period it was represented in? Outdated would be if they kept the same alt mode for present day.

My favorite is the first trilogy body. I like that you can see recognizable truck parts while it's still a sleek yet powerful looking design. And I like the flames.
#2 is AoE/TLK. It's a cool looking robot but I prefer seeing more vehicle parts.
#3 is Bumblebee Prime. Looks too boxy to me. Also, I don't remember him ever removing his faceplate. When Transformers first came out I was disappointed the leader didn't have a normal face. I always thought of his mouth plate as a fat lip (I was a kid). I just learned to live with it. Now, after Bumblebee, I realize how much I miss the regular face.

I hear what you saying it. I was definitely looking at a perspective from modern day age.

I have to agree with the majority (though I'll order the variants of the trilogy design):

    1. Bumblebee (no explanation needed)
    2. Evasion (it's the grille that makes it that bit more Optimus even if the transformation is bullshit)
    3. DOTM (I actually prefer the abs on the 2007/9 design but I love the fact he has a transforming trailer)
    4. 2007/ROTF
    5. AOE/TLK (cool design, but not really optimus; even the design cues that were carried over from the trilogy design like his feet and shoulders were removed on the final render)
Also worth a mention is Josh Nizzi's Prime 1 Superior Optimus design that hasn't made it to production so far, which is a great mix of of G1 and movie aesthetics.

BB is unquestionably the popular go-to answer, but I still prefer the original Trilogy design since I grew up with and am therefore more familiar with it

    From Best to Worse
    1. TLK/AOE - Optimus Prime - This design to me shows maturity, Shows the anguish and pain of what Prime faced. I love clean and sleek designs, But I love how battle damaged Prime was, At the end of AOE. It brings out what he faced. I particularity just have love for Knights. They're just appealing to me.

    2. Trilogy - 1-3 - Optimus Prime - Now before the Knight design approached, I had major love of this complex and daring design. Most say, Its not how they imagine Prime. But to me, It spoke out as Optimus Prime. It was clean. Sleek and had moments of showing the damage radius. Which the forest battle has observed within. The detail of this design was astonishing. And I loved everything about it.

    3. Envasion Form - Optimus Prime - This design has simply a remold of the trilogy's. Regardless, Its design was astonishing and had a great complexity of a mix of generation 1 and bayverse. Now some can argue at best its majority is bayverse. Which is true, But it indeed had G1 aspects. And that had my strong respects.

    4. Bumblebee - I wasn't a big fan of this design for Prime, As it was for others, As in the design is well done. But it would've fit much more on Earth, Than on Cybertron. On cybertron I imagine a cybertronian design would go best by WFC or FOC standards. As for that, I did enjoy what they were going for, It was much appealing. So much detail in his mask, And such, Had me wowed. So for that, I congratulate the one's who created the final design.

    5. Protoform - It was okay, But understanding considering of budget, So it was acceptable. But I definitely don't see it as Prime. Which is why Travis's out rank's the bayverse's protoform.

Keep in mind this is purely my entitlement of design aspect, Out of all,My personal view.

Original Trilogy is the best. Don't care enough about the rest to order them.

If they keep the same models in subsequent movies I can see them updating the alt mode for a modern day setting, maybe to the same truck as Galvatron. Or even a G2-esque long nose. Theyd be silly to mess with basic robot mode though now theyve finally fully embraced the classic design.

    Best to worst:
1- AOE/TLK, just love how he is still OP yet someone completely different!
2- Evasion Prime, because of the nice G1 hommage.
3- 2007/RotF/DotM, because seeing that to the cinema after watching G1 as a child is still one of the best feelings I have had in my life.
4- Bumblebee Prime, something felt weird about that movie and I didn't enjoy it so everything related to it is weak IMO.
5- Protoform Prime, because it had to be listed.

from best to worst for me, (snd about 65.5% of this thread) are
    1. BB
I have been wanting a G1 movieverse prime for the longest time, and after seeing Bumblebee, the wait was worth it. I love this design, and can't wait to see more of it.

    2. DOTM
By far the best bayformers design of him. I love the slight change in his abdomen, and his flight capabilities.

    3. Oddly enough, AOE/TLK Prime (concept art)
I do understand that the design does not look like he can transform, but it IS possible, as shown in AOE. It's a shame how the concept art for him wasn't shown in the final film.

    4. Evasion Mode
It's now like I hate this look, i'm just not really attached to it like i am with the other designs.

    5. Protoform
I only saw this for a brief second, and that was enough. At least his face plate is visible.
