HOLY CRAP, HOW HAVEN'T I SEEN THIS THREAD YET?!?! Man, beast wars was what REALLY got me into collecting. I was born in '83, when G1 was ramping up, so I while I got few of the toys, it was early childhood, so beast wars I got to really connect with characters. Add into the awesome CGI animation (for the time it was kind of revolutionary still); Garry Chalk, David Kay, Scott McNeil, amongst all the other immensely talented voice actors truly brought the characters to life. Man, what a time it was!!! All my originals are packed away until I'm able to find a real place for them, but the Masterpiece figures are all on display, waiting for David, I mean Megatron to come in April!! 20190228_134434.jpg IMG_20190228_190451_839.jpg

Guys one question would you buy a commander class optimal optimus?
With retractable cannon, face changing gimmick between meg and optimus and in gorrila mode between angry and neutral, 4 modes?
And a dragon megatron?? For bw 20s??

I'd probably opt for those two to be leader class so they would be larger than the rest of the characters in the line. I think I get why you chose Commander class though as that Siege Jetfire is coming with some really nifty features.
I'm overwhelmed enough by what the BW MP line is doing with regards to bringing these characters to life so I say let a regular line do something different but I had a bit of fun making a list of what price point would suit each character best using the 5 size classes we have now with the mind set of making them accurate to the show in design and scale to one another kind of like what the Studio Series line has done.

Legend: Cheetor, Rattrap, TM Rattrap, Blackarachnia, TM2 Blackarachnia, Airazor, Tarantulas, Scorponok, Waspinator, Quickstrike

Deluxe: Optimus Primal, Terrorsaur, Tigatron, TM Cheetor, TM Tarantulas, Ravage

Voyager: TM Primal, Rhinox, Dinobot, Inferno, Silverbolt, TM2 Cheetor

Commander: Megatron, TM Megatron, Rampage, Depthcharge, Dinobot II, Tigerhawk, Transmutate

    Leader: TM2 Megatron, Optimal Optimus

And just like with Studio Series some characters would be larger or smaller than average for their price point like Dinobot would be a tall Voyager and Rhinox would be shorter yet wider, Rattrap and BA would be slightly smaller than than the rest of the Legends etc. Most seem pretty unrealistic... There's more Commander class figs here than there are Deluxes and Voyagers lol. You could also knock a figures off this list as they already exist in this scale and are decent representations like LG/Thrilling 30 Rhinox and the original TM Tarantulas. Though a new head and arms would be nice for the latter.

Well we actually get a leader optimal optimus it was good but not great, his size was small imagine with today class size he would be too small voyaguer, remenber that the leaders right now are voyaguer see shockwave and ultra magnus, so for me commander class would be the perfect size they are their biggest versions also they would not be restricted in size, weight since they have a higuer price range

    For me regarding size classes

    Legend
    Quickstrike, rattrap, blackarachnia, scorponok, tarantulas
    Deluxe
Cheetor, silverbolt, terrorsaur, tigatron, tm tarantulas, inferno, waspinator, s1 optimal optimus, ravage, airazor, tm rattrap, tm cheetor
    Voyaguer
Depthcharge and his nemesis,s1 megatron, dinobot, tm primal
    Leader
    Tm megatron, tiguerhawk
    Commander
    Optimal optimus, dragon megatron
    Titan
    G1 scorponok
I prefer a line a la studio series i like bw but honestly i dont have the money for spending 340 on megatron, so a cheaper alternative would be great

The original optimal was around 10 inches so it would be a good upgrade jetfire is 11 inches between the old supreme and leader
Old supreme were 14 inches is my memorry doesnt fail me i say tm2 megatron for him to be the same size as optimus actual leaders are 7 inches, so 7 inches against 11 like no

Beast Police Action, it's got "action" right in the name.

Did you know that Dave Willis is the head honcho at TFWiki.net and also wrote the Bio for SG Ravage. He could put what ever he wants in that article and it's cannon.

Does anyone have pics of the Generations BW figures next to Siege figures to compare sizes? I hear figures are smaller now, but haven't nothing to compare it with.

Oh right, thanks. Some of my older leader class figs are around 30cm tall but now leaders are a little smaller so that makes sense.

Siege is actually really good as far as plastic quality and figure sizes go.

Good time, too, as the reissue tweaks the shoulders to sit more flush.

Honestly nearly tempted to get another myself, simply because I love that figure so much, even though I modded the shoulders on mine.

Speaking of reissues I'm very glad Dinobot's getting one too which means the issues the original run had will be fixed by then if they managed to fix Primal's issues. Which is good since Dinobot along with Megatron are by far the most expensive MP figures in the BW line and they should be as good as possible QC wise.

That is exactly what I was after! Thank you!

I thought I'd read comments about the Siege figures being smaller than previous years, but either I've misunderstood or the posters were crazy.

It's great news. It means Hasbro doesn't need to retread old ground. They can just do the remaining 11 to match.
