Saw no mold on my Japan ToysRus exclusive toy it’s decent toy could have been better

 

Anybody have a decent idea how “exclusive” this would be? I’d love to pick one up if it isn’t impossible to get a hold of

 

Right so Bumblebee was clearly originally intended to be a prequel, but here's the thing, as the owners of the intellectual property, Hasbro gets final say and Hasbro are in fact the ones in charge of where things go after Bumblebee. It's like X-Men First class, intended prequel, made as a prequel, becomes first in the rebooted series.
The Cybertron scenes and the like were added to test the waters and check to see what fans and audiences would like to see in the future.

 

First class actually was made as a reboot but became a prequel...therefore dofp with original cast meeting with the first class cast as their younger selves
If the movie explicitly tells you James Macvory and Fassbender are the younger versions of Stewart and Gandalf...i don’t see how it’s not a prequel. Even the future ending sets up that the younger cast will grow up to became the x1-3 cast....and Logan is then set 5 years after the future ending
The most you can say is that the newer X-Men fractures the timeline but keeps the continuity
If bumblebee is a hard reboot and not a sorta prequel (to be confirmed by the next movie situation) then it’s more Batman begins

 

The future changes in that movie to avoid the cataclymsic events of it, thus meaning it's a new timeline, massive shift in Deadpool, and Phoenix is appearing sooner in the new timeline than she did in the original so... Either way this argument has nothing to do with the main point, Hasbro are the ones who decide things for transformers

 

Yes timeline is fractured but continuity (the actors, the design, the music, the entire fricking Celebro looking the same in 1970 and 2000) is kept

 

I just like how the reboot vs prequel argument isn’t going all hostile on this board yet
As for this argument taken at face value this is Batman Begins but there is nothing stopping hasbro to do a Xmen style pivot back to bay continuity like Star Trek 09 (2 timelines fractured to exist side by side) or dofp (new timeline replaces old one)
To do both will need time travel

 

If its a Nemesis redeco id be all over it.

 

I guess his color will be Rusty color.

 

I dunno why but I feel like I’ll be weirdly angry if it is a nemesis version.

 

Would be hilarious if it was a Bumble Bee disguised as Optimus 

 

Every franchise has its errors. (Heres looking at star wars) All the main cast was Bay aesthetic. If you were to take away the 5 minute WFC intro it would be pretty much a prequel. As much as I love G1, I wish that part could be edited out and replaced with a star wars style intro. Then it would bee perfect. (Pun intended)

 

You cant change what something is just because you own it. If Hasbro buys the Empire State building tomorrow, they can name it yankee stadium but that doesnt make it a stadium.

Who even cares about these anymore, it’s been five years. This mold got left in the dust so many ages ago you could call it extinct . I’d rather see repaints of SS-38 if I gotta be truthful.

 

Especially since Takara already did a Scourge deco (he did the Nemesis colors first) of Evasion Optimus.
One is enough.

Yeah. Okay here’s a weird idea. What if they did Union Jack Optimus Prime? Like have him with some neat deco and the red shoes of the old British variant. Or maybe a toxitron. That’d be really nice.

 

If they rebuilt it into a stadium that's what it'd be, and future films and the reshoots and addition of the Cybertron scenes are that rebuilding. Regardless I get that arguing with you is pointless and doesn't really add anything to this discussion.
Also saying you can't change what something is just because you own it on this site...maybe spend some more time in the radicons galleries :3.
Hasbro's choosing to transform Bumblebee into the start of their new universe just as many have transformed Roadburn into Cliffjumper.


Anyway I think the toy is definitely going to be an Ultimate Optimus Prime remold and retool, probably throw in an ipn blaster more accurate to the movie as a bonus since they can't change too much about the base robot.
