ok so i am starting to add combiners to my chug/prime wars/wfc trilogy/3rd party collection. and im finally starting to look at trying to have a semi unified scale for my figures. i cant just buy 3rd party combiners willy nilly, it will take a while and i have to be committed to it, so im coming here to ask some questions about the various different 3rd party combiner sets.

i base my chug/3rd party collection on my most important figures. my main megatron and optimus prime are the siege voyagers. i want team leaders to be about siege voyager scaled and id like limbs to be about siege deluxe scaled. i usually have my combiners displayed as a full team, not as a combiner though i do occasionally take them to combined mode and at that point id like them to be about the size of hasbro abominus.

right now i have hasbro potp abominus, both titan predaking and devastator, hasbro cw defensor, cw computron. but predaking and devastator are to big so i need replacement combiners for them.

so my overall question is essentially what 3rd party versions of devastator and predaking exist that would scale with potp abominus with the dreamwave kit and if their is none then what 3rd party versions of predaking and devastator scale with a 3rd party abominus. i also need suggestions for piranacon, menasor, and bruticus. btw i could see the predacons being all closer to voyager size but not as big as the potp titan pradaking in individual robot modes.

I have Unique Toys Warlord and Maketoys Green Giant as my Predaking and Devy for the moment.
They are the same size as CW combiners in combined mode and look great at it.
But the Constructicons are very poor representations of the characters, and Razorclaw is a voyager while the other Predacons are deluxes. Those are the biggest drawbacks.

    My lineup's varied:

CW Superion & G2 Superion w/PE upgrades (I also have TFC, but no G2 redeco means CW takes its spot)
Defensor TBD (leaning CW, since you can pull off Guard City kinda with the Hasbro versions and the new Inferno; the recent restock preorders for MT do give me pause though)
    MT Computron
    TFC Road Caesar (default)

TFC Devastator (still my favorite, though I've been tempted by MT thanks to the G2 redeco)
FP Menasor & G2 Menasor (I do own CW G2 Menasor + upgrades, but I've preferred FP's take, despite Motormaster's frustrating transformation, and finally getting G2 redecos is a plus)
CW Bruticus/G2 Bruticus/Ruination w/upgrades (I also own WB Bruticus and prefer it, but redecos, yadda yadda)
    MMC Predaking
    UT Abominus
    TFC Piranacon (default)
    FP Monstructor & Dinoking (default)
    TFC Liokaiser

If you're looking to go cheaper than Feral Rex I'd look at Unique Toys Warlord before TFC Ares. I'm sure he has his supporters, but Warlord is much more stable. That said for CHUG/Seige MMC Rex is definitely the way to go.

I'm sure Giant would work fine with your CW figures, but I've always felt Hercules is the better set (and yes I've owned both) just my opinion there. If I have time tonight I'll hit this thread with some scale pics for you.

Those figures are gorgeous. I’m so glad hasbro downsized OP, Megatron, Soundwave in the siege line so I can have my Maketoy Giant out again.

Menasor and Bruticus as Unite Warriors sets with some decent upgrades make for passable combined mode roughly in scale with your collection. The bots in individual bot modes, though, look pretty cool and I think they will fit your need very well.

    Pics of devy figures:
best devastator for a chug collection?

TFC Herc scales best with the official combiners that are using 3rd party add-on feet.

This pic is from Roconius P. Unique Toys Warlord Predaking, if you like your Predaking to be similar height as the rest.

I have to take a new photo of this since Abominus has been properly upgraded with the TDW kit and Devastator/Hercules has his reprolabels now, but can't do that until I've fixed TFC Scrapper/Structor due to his shoulder ratchets shearing themselves off

    2018-10-21 12.14.55.jpg
    From left to right

TFC Hercules with "Rage of Hercules" upgrade set
CW Menasor with Nonnef Shoulder locks and hip ratchets, PE Hands/Feet and Torso upgrade sets and Renderform Motormaster rifle
CW Bruticus with Prime Trilogy Blast Off, PE Hands/Feet and Head/Gun upgrade set (also borrowed a gun from Abominus' PEKO set)
POTP Abominus with PEKO hands/feet (pictured here with TR Overlord's gun, a placeholder)
    Uniquetoys Warlord

I've been told that Fansproject's Beastructor/Monstructor would scale well with these guys, but I can't justify spending money on that when I don't know the characters. Far as I know there's no Piranacon that would scale properly with these days.

    Bonus: Abomenaticus

These guys have given excellent advice. If you want to be more adventurous you can look at 19 and under options...but if Siege Megs and Optimus are your commanders then these are all the best choices.

I'd recommend you check Bobby Skullface's Youtube channel, he did an entire series comparing the TFC and Maketoys versions of the constructicons, each member gets a dedicated video and you can actively see the figures compared to each other in all modes along with the G1 originals.

In my personal opinion, the Maketoys Giant individual robot modes really don't look very good. Neither TFC or Maketoys are really super "accurate" renditions of the individual constructicons as they are Generations-esque updates, but the Maketoys ones go in WILDLY different directions, especially poor Long Haul, Maketoys really screwed him up.
