Well, we still haven't seen Takara's final version   I'm sticking with Willis, despite his ankle problem. If Takara does a toy accurate version, I may be interested though... One of my first TFs (if not very first; it was either him or Prowl) was a G1 Hound in 1985... It even was a retail copy! (we couldn't afford that most of the time, so I mostly had incomplete garage or yard sale versions).

 

TT Hound's face makes him old. He looks more like Kup. Unless they fix that I don't even consider swapping out Willis.

I sold off my Willis, and I haven't regretted it. It's not because it's a bad figure, it's just that other than posing it, I had done nothing with it.

 

Re-releasing Willis might be a good idea, with maybe a better "toon" deco once the official goes up for preorder. They could easily undercut TT. Undoubtedly the official is going to be in the $150 range based on the Bumblebee V2 price.

A regular color deco reissue and an all new toon deco release would make sense.

Willis is incredible. FT released a carbot superior to one that TT put out 2 years later. Thats a major accomplishment and they really need to followup with more carbots. All 3P carbots have been a real let down except for FT's. We need more!

How do you know that when Takara's hasn't even been released?

 

I consider Willis to be toy version color release. I'd like to see FT do a toon color version.
I agree with @botfan that we definitely need to see more s1 and s2 carbots/vehicles from FT.

 

I didn't like Willis. My copy had a droopy foot that would not tighten no matter what I did. It also had issues standing. I'll wait for a KO of the TT. I thought about MT's version but that is getting scarce now, and I can't get over the ugly face.

 

I have a complete mint one, no droopy feet, reprolabels but no box. I need to clear some space and I realized I never really cared for a Hound. I’ll can sell at cost.
