i am sorry but that is actually wrong and the panels do need to be reversed. the box art is correct to how they were originally drawn. IF megs and optimus are basically Don Figs art brought to life. the execution of these drawing to physical bots is simply amazing. it makes me wonder how many other bots he did for them as well.

 

Interesting, I totally did not consider his Stormbringer design. I was focusing more on his Origin design. Guess it comes down to which form you choose to display him in and whether you want him to be accurate to Stormbringer or Origin. Though you're right, he's definitely meant to be more Stormbringer than Origin.

Mine arrived today! Not a lot of time to mess with it yet but impressed nonetheless! I don't think I will get another Legends Megatron. Maybe someone will release one I just decide I have to have but I'm not fussed to have one that changes into a gun. As much as I enjoyed the cartoon, it's just a very dull alt mode to me compared to a tank or anything like that. And if I want the bot mode that looks G1, this guy has it. I have a suspicion I may go somewhere down the middle and mix and mingle his parts. Maybe G1 head and keep all the weapons. Bwahahhaha!

I cannot believe I never thought about using all three cannons like that!

 

It's worth noting that, personal preference and line-art accuracy aside, Tyrant was clearly sculpted to have the panels installed the way they appear on the box art. It doesn't cripple the figure having them on the wrong legs, but it leaves some awkward gaps between the inner leg and shin and makes the overall look less clean:

 

Got my 2nd Tyrant in today from Netclow. One of the very few figures I've ever double-dipped on cause he's just so awesome...

i think i saw that guy post about those in the radicon forum. but i feel his kits or the kit that this is based on adds too much useless mass to the figure. nothing looked that hot when he posted his stuff the first time.
