I think there might be a small possibility as Wizards of the coast (owned by Hasbro) released a official Magic the Gathering D&D supplement and since both it and transformers are owned by Hasbro I see no reason why the two can not be connected. Also worth noting that Wizards is producing the new Transformers TCG to so again I see no reason why the two franchises can not be connected.

Does anyone remember Titaniums? That's basically what I except these to be like.

I'd hope they do characters from series we do not have as toys. Like, based on the WFC/FoC game designs, IDW comic designs (particularly non/barely-transforming ones), etc.

Wizkids only makes things in plastic, sorry.

    You are kidding me, right?
    Wizkids
They are the biggest miniature company out there, and they already have strong ties to Hasbro since they have been making D&D minis since 2014 (and Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast).
They have also been making Heroclix for ages, for both Marvel and DC, Star Trek ships and miniatures, Pathfinder miniatures, and if we go back even more to the past, they were behind Mage Knight and Horrorclix as well.
And that's just minis, they are also making tons of board games, card games, etc.

And the quality is excellent. Here are some of their D&D and PFB minis, for example.

https://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Guildmasters-Guide-Ravnica/dp/0786966599 First one came out last year, there's also free PDFs on the website. They have an official Stranger Things D&D box set coming soon too. I am very surprised there's never been any official TF suppliments

OK I guess - especially if they have some unique selling point ; Otherwise I'd suggest people buy up a takara bottle cap collection or use Robot hero figures instead. I'm not tripping over myself with excitement but i'll have a look what they are like when they show the figures off - the Gi Joe ones might have some use as figures that could scale with small vehicles. If they made GI Joe vehicle minitures I'd look at them very seriously indeed. (Gi Joe / Transformers etc... would have worked reasonably well as a Skylanders like offering).

RPG source books are something I used to pay some modest attention too as a beta canon source on some franchises - but not for playing any games. I have no objection to there being a Transformers one - it might make for an interesting read.

Not much care about RPG splatbooks... But a skirmish wargame could be nice. If ever made.

Interesting. I love wizkids minis. My wife and I have a ton of them and we frequently paint together along with a few friends who are into it as well.

I'm curious what exactly they're going to do with this. G1 I hope. I mean they can do other continues if they want but G1 and maybe TFP are all I'd be interested it. No evergreen. And at what scale? Will they be large enough to scale with their other minis (putting them all at huge size -about the size of a deluxe Hasbro figure) or will they just be dnd size minis with their own scale? And, given that Hasbro owns wotc and that wotc has already made the Transformers card game, might we expect a transformers tabletop?

no apologies necessary. That just increases their decoy-ness.

I don't think it will lead to a tabletop game neccesarily. Hasbro also owns MLP but the MLP TTRPG was not released by WotC.

What's a decoy? I mean like obviously I know what the word means but not in this context.

1.5 inch tall rubbery transformers figurines. Comparable to M.U.S.C.L.E. figurines.

I love board games. The Transformers collectable card game is great and I have bought a bunch and will buy more of that but if they did a decent board game with tactical skirmish battles or something like that, I would explode with joy!
Hex grid battles on various maps with little figurines (preferable with the alt mode represented with a fig too) would be great! Or maybe a map of Earth and/or Cybertron and a game of strategic level war would be amazing too. Or a co-op dungeon crawl on Quintessa where your handfull of Autobots battle hordes of Sharkticons and Allicons.... ok, that is not very likely but a fan can dream!

Maybe these will only be figs without a game behind it, I will probably still buy some, I hope they do these figs in a pretty faithful G1 style, some Beast Wars dudes would be cool too!

I hope that they do more than G1. also this game used miniatures but it was based on Transformers Armada called Battle for Cybertron have you heard of it?

Yeah, I know of it and it seems pretty cool, I wish there were alt mode figures for it too but I guess their altmodes are represented in their card decks (which every character had if I recall what I have read about it correctly?). If it was in a G1 style/Beast Wars or Neo-G1 like IDW or something similar I would have picked it up long ago but I have no real connection with Armada (I should watch that show some day though and that might make me want to pick up the game on eBay or something).
Do you like the Battle for Cybertron game? Do you think it is good? (if you have played it that is)

You know, I could almost get excited for this if the figures would stand on a hinge and the alt mode would click over on top of it with a secondary dial for the alt mode stats. But they'll probably just force everyone to buy two versions of each character.
