Nice! Still the one I want most from that wave, but I've not been able to find any sign of them still.
Hey, I'm not sure if you guys have talked about this, so sorry if so. Has there been anything on maybe a Thundercats figures line ? If I could get them in this size/line I would have my top 3 figure lines of the 80's, TMNT, MOTU, and ThunderCats.... I love the small sizes for less storage/display space and the great detail.
People have mentioned they would love a Thundercats MC line, but so far zero word on whether MC has any plans to make that a reality. I kind of doubt it'll happen since MC has MOTU and they kind of seem not to want to muddle things with similar lines. Maybe something for the Heroes line down the line, but I'd doubt we'd get sets. Hopefully MC makes me eat my own words in the future. Not really sure if I'd be in for the entire cast, but Panthro would be a definite must have for me.
Like @NemiMonkey said, there's been nothing from Mattel. No whisperings or rumors. Just a few of us in this thread saying how much we wish it would happen. I'd probably buy everything if they did it: the full cast for sure, Cat's Lair, most of the vehicles (hell, I'd probably buy all the vehicles), Castle Plundarr, Mumm-Ra's pyramid, everything. Love me some Thundercats!
As I've said, it's gotta sting enough that Mattel couldn't even secure the Voltron use in blok form. Although, it's possible the Lego kit was a one off use of the license. But then, that guy from Super7 was pretty vocal about Mattel not getting along with others.
Yeah, unlike MOTU, Mattel doesn't own Thundercats. While I think the TC owner would be crazy not to license to MC, who knows if MC has even broached the subject. They're probably looking at MOTU sales and wondering if they could justify doing it if they had to add license fees on top of their normal costs. If they get TC, they might as well go for Silverhawks too. I'd probably buy the main cast from both series, but I wouldn't be hardcore into either like I am with MOTU. I was the perfect age when MOTU started, but I was already deep into Joe and TF (and starting to age out of toys) when TC, SH, and TMNT came along. I watched the shows for lack of more interesting programming, but I never bought the toys. Even MOTU went by the wayside when Joe and TF hit their stride. God bless Reagan and FCC deregulation!
If I'm googling it right TC and Silverhawks are Warner Bros properties now. I'm not really sure how willing they'd be to give the license to a company that barely has shelf presence right now. Funko is making those MOTU like figures but it's fricking Funko. That's guarantee to make at least some money since they have product everywhere. Also found this thread over on the blok forums about a possible reasoning as to why distribution seems so shite. Might have solved the distribution puzzle... | The Bloks Forum Not saying that's a bullseye just some food for thought.
If it's true that WB owns them now, they're almost certainly not coming to MC. IIRC, WB just took the DC license away from Mattel for 2020. I can only imagine that relationship is pretty strained right now, as DC is in the lame-duck phase at mattel.
Well, I was still me last time I checked... but heck, we might be the same. I'll ask my wife... or your wife.
I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about. And if you try to explain, I will immediately repress it and continue to not know what you're talking about. The last movement on any Thundercats franchise was in 2011 and there hasn't been a new series since then and there certainly isn't some abomination that bears the Thundercats' brand starting up this year.
