Amazon has him in stock* at the moment if you're having trouble finding him.

    * And I mean Amazon, Amazon. Not Amazon scalpers with their marked up prices.

Thanks but I already pre-ordered at TFSource where they apparently don't let you cancel paid pre-orders.

I was not planing on getting him but here I am and I love this guy. I was content with my CW Ultra Magnus due to his scale with the rest of my Classics collection and while this guy will not be replacing him he still will have a place in my collection. And hey at least this guy can actually hold his weapons; and more G1 accurate if you're into that kind of thing.

This figure is incredibly fun to weaponize further with Cog. Can't wait for that new red hammer battle master for him to wield too.

Not my picture but I think Siege Ultra Magnus is perfect scale wise with Legends/Titans Return Hot Rod:

So after playing with him for a little while I have to say that he's a great CHUG representation of Ultra Magnus but he's a terrible Transformers toy IMHO.

    Bot-Mode Problems
    • The shoulder armor doesn't stay locked on because the white taps on the back of his shoulders that the grey swing panels connect to aren't long enough to connect.
    • The waist is so loose I can basically flick his chest with my fingers and he'll spin like a top (YMMV)
    • His gun in his hand is also pretty loose.
    • They gave him ratchets for forward and back motion in his legs and that's great but side to side is just a friction joint and it can't hold any weight so the legs just drop.
    Vehicle mode Problems
    • This is no car carrier - the ramp doesn't drop down even though there is no reason it couldn't
    • There's very little room inside the trailer because that's where they expect you to stuff all his armor parts.
    • The feet in vehicle mode are permanently angled even though he has ankle tilt so there's no reason it couldn't
    • His head dangles from the roof in full view.
    • The cab's bumper and cab have trouble lining up in vehicle mode (There doesn't seem to be anything to lock the wait in place that I could find).
    • The arms and feet just stick out the back in truck mode so displaying him as just the cab is pretty unappealing.
    • The truck and cargo area are fixed together so there's no swivel allowed.
    • Of the 12 wheels only like 4 touch the ground,
    Final thoughts
    • While he looks great the vehicle mode is a complete brick and the bot-mode is pretty floppy. There's no excuse for most of these problems. This guy is like 90% partsformer. I mean you literally rip him apart like you're Scourge and his Sweep (too soon?) and stick it somewhere else. With that much freedom both modes should be flawless. I'm not sure who designed this toy but it's certainly not their best work.

Agreed. Might skip this figure and hope for a OS version that fixes the wheel gap and yhe perma tilt of the feet. For $50 i added $15 more and got a ko mp magnus. Much happier!

Let's hope these fillers get made/sell and the inner leg blue filler too:

After seeing all the awesome pics, I caved and picked up Magnus the other day. I thought I would keep CW Magnus and pass on Siege but I'm glad I went ahead and got him. I love how hefty he feels overall and both armored and unarmored modes are fun. Only little issue I had was trying to get his trailer to hook on to his cab. Took a bit of doing and watching a few YT videos to get it just right.

As for whether he is worth $50 or if he is the better value compared to Leader Shockwave, I would say it evens out. Ultra Magnus definitely has more heft and his armored up mode does make sense compared to Doc Ock-wave. However, I have to give a point to Shockwave because when he is not armored, at least his armor parts can form a drone/hoverboard where as Magnus's armor parts just...sit there when not in use.

But...but...he's not hollow, he's perfect, he's the best representation of Ultra Magnus since G1! He's what Siege is all about, they're all perfect!

Seriously, though... At this point in time, I'm not surprised it needs an upgrade kit. Granted, it's far less than some other figures would receive, so that's something, but still...

Mine came pretty quickly from Hasbro Pulse. Box and figure in good shape. Delivered to the door which is something FedEx doesn't usually bother with in my area.

Anyway, this figure is solid. As much as I liked (and still do) Comber Wars leader Ultra Magnus, it's good to finally have one with a proper inner robot. Speaking of which, the inner robot does look very much like Siege Optimus Prime but almost completely retooled. They kept the smokestacks on and I'm not sure why. The head is exactly the same (different color, of course) but everything else is entirely new. He is more then a little beefier than Optimus as well. Standing them side-by-side shows just how anemic Siege Optimus is. That's what Geewunn will get you. If Optimus had the mass Magnus does, he'd be a much more impressive figure.

Transformation engineering is sound through. The cab is a little basic but there's a few clever bits and the way the rear breaks apart and folds up is very impressive. Reminds me more of Omega Prime from RID rather than the third part city commander. Commander had a ridiculous amount of panels that had to be folded away in addition to an extra piece for the waste. Siege Magnus does have the accordion folding panels into the leg pieces, similar to Omega Prime, as well as the chest back and new head attaching the same way. The final result is excellent. Fantastic details, undeniably Ultra Magnus, very well proportioned, and maintains full articulation which is easily the most impressive part.

It's true that the combined robot mode isn't as big as the leader price point, but upon having the figure in-hand I realized it was the vehicle mode that earned the price point. The vehicle is every bit as big as the old combiner wars leader magnus. The robot mode just winds up smaller because it is designed around being an armor upgrade for the core robot rather than being it's own robot mode. Everything folds up and condenses so much that it winds up much smaller.

That's not an unusual approach for Hasbro, either. For years collectors have been buying Optimus Primes at larger classes just for the trailer, even if he can't combine with it. For another examples, Beast Wars Scavenger was sold as a Mega because that's how big is alt mode was. In robot mode he was the size of a deluxe.

All in all he's an excellent beafy autobot ready 'to deal with it'! This is honestly how you do G1. You take the original design, cram in a bunch of new details, loads of engineering, make him fully articulated, and give him at least a halfway decent paint job. This is why Optimus Prime being a skinny Geewunn 35-year-old cartoon design looks bad. It's a lesson I know a lot of the users on this forum will never learn. "Never go full Geewunn!"

Mine has the same issues you listed. I can live with most of those but it seems like the legs are getting looser on my Magnus when he has his armor boots on. Unarmored, the hips are still ok. I was considering exchanging him if I ever saw another one at Wal-Mart but if its a wider spread issue, I'll probably just keep the one I got. Despite the issues, he still looks pretty good displayed armored up.

For point number one, at first I had this issue, but you have to fiddle with it and line it up perfectly to get the grey part to latch, then the armor is secured. It takes a while to get it just right for me though.

My waist is tight enough too, so that's probably just yours. Some future between both pieces and then rotating it around might tighten it up.

The gun is slightly looser than I'd like, but it doesn't wiggle around like some Transformer guns have in the past couple of lines.

The hips on mine are still tight, but I can see them loosening up over time. They should have been ratcheted outwards.
