that is pretty much how my experience went as well. but there are guys here who swear by that place and how easy it ends up being.

So for those who had issues with his and had to disassemble many parts to do so, was it a PITA? I am kinda tempted to buy another Gabriel and do a major paint project and make a custom painted Guardian version for myself. I mean, it may be more headache than what it is worth, but it sure would be pretty dam cool if I or someone on here could pull it off. Just curious to see if anyone has contemplated such a major undertaking since it does not appear that DX9 will ever produce the prototype they had on display a while back..:D

i have taking my gabriel apart just to grease his hips and to see what is going on in there.

i must say it is all fairly easy. but my advice for you is to grab some extra screws for replacements. that is if you need extras.

I bought the wj guardian version and it's great, cheap, and comes in blue.

Personally not worth the time and effort and cost to try to repaint a Gabriel into Guardian colors. But if someone likes that kinda thing more power to you!

I have looked at that one, but he looks much smaller and I like the overall look of Gabe.

It's not actually smaller. Proportions may be affecting the perceived height? I had the WJ and sold it for DX9. WJ didn't fit in my cabinet without removing the wings but DX9 fits fine.

The face pops off easily. I have disassembled mine to lube the joints and it was not difficult to disassemble/reassemble.

As has been stated, Weijiang is definitely not much smaller. Just a smidge shorter at the head.

Yeah they're all very similar to the head:

Its the wings that differ. Personally prefer the shorter wings in Omega. The larger wings suit the Guardian stylee in my head. I'd still love a 2nd FT20G but prices are silly.

Just got my Gabriel and I absolutely adore him. Paintwork is flawless except for some scuffed silver on the tank mode gun things, and I seem to be a lucky fucker because all the joints move smoothly without concerning me but still hold sturdily. I even bought shock oil and everything but it looks like I wont need it

Joined the Gabriel club yesterday. I previously had FansToys (sold), then Weijiang (sold) and now Gabriel. FansToys was not G1 cartoon enough plus it was a bit unstable. Weijiang is better for more dynamic posing but doesn't look like G1 Omega either. Gabriel is hands down the best looking Omega despite his limited leg poseability. Happy to finally have an Omega I can live with.

gabriel has some pretty nice legs. what poses are you trying to do that you think he cant hit?

i have had any that i tried where he couldn't hold it.

His hip rotation is a bit limited, and he has no forward/backward ankle/toe rocker. This limits his posing a little when getting him into say, a dynamic pose firing him arm cannon. I know he is big and poses well for his size but honestly the Weijiang version spoiled me a bit in that regard as he has more poseability in the feet and hips which makes him look more natural if that makes sense. But, you're right- Gabriel can get into a majority of the good looking poses you'd want Omega in.

That all said, Gabriel is pretty amazing. He LOOKS perfect to me. He absolutely kicks the crap out of FansToys and Weijiang in that department. And he is just as poseable and more stable than FansToys, and despite not being as poseable as Weijiang he looks so much better it doesn't matter!

Mine had zero hip rotation out of the box. At first I wondered if they were even meant to rotate. Then I watched a few videos and saw they moved several clicks and mine would not even go one. I found instructions here for taking the hips apart. Tried putting shock oil but it wasn’t enough. I had to cut the springs very slightly but it was enough to get the hip rotation I expected. Now I don’t know if we are expecting the same thing but just thought I’d throw that out there.

With that small surgery and oiling every joint he has with shock oil I love my Gabriel. I didn’t try the others although I did look a lot at the WJ version and nearly got it.
