That's not what he's said at all. He said having his daughter has made him very conscious of wanting to create more diverse representation, not that the two characters are inserts of his daughter. And having read the first issue of Naomi, there's no similarity to Riri. What you said was reductive and antagonistic.

Me? Antagonistic towards Bendis? Why, I never! ;)

I, too, have read the first issue. While Riri's portrayal was so incompetent that it became unintentionally hilarious, Naomi just sucks and is predictable.

Anyways, Bendis might be claiming that he wants to add "more representation" but I am sure that his two being teenage girls who have an issue with one of the big names of their universes (Iron man, Superman) is a coincidence.

    I’m kinda conflicted on Nightwing.

On one hand, I want to see how the Nightwing Corps are, and see how Dan Jurgens does as a writer.

On the other hand, I know that “Ric” will eventually disappear and it feels a lot like the time Bruce was replaced by Jim Gordon in Scott Synder’s run, only more dragged out.

I feel like dropping it after March’s issue and wait until the final “Ric” story arc appears (i.e. when Dick Grayson returns) to pick up the series again.

I’m feeling pretty antagonistic towards Bendis.

yea...it's kind of obvious he's making his adopted daughters into superheroes. i really can't see how anyone can deny this. i mean they even look like riri and naomi.

i wonder if there's any proxies for his biological kids.
i kind of like it...i was sour on the whole spy era at first but ended up liking it in the end. this isn't bad. it's a new direction and i'm interested to see how he comes back to being himself....and how much of himself does come back. i just want some reconciliation with barbara....as a fan of that pairing it's a little heartbreaking seeing him act so cold towards her.

though i wish there were more moments with tim and maybe damian while this is going on. i'd like to see how it's affecting them. i can't see damian handling it well.

It doesn't help that all the POC characters he has written are all godawful. IN MY OPINION!!!
Well... to be fair Miles isn't bad. At least he wasn't at first.

IN MY OPINION (lol)...the problem i have with miles has been around since the beginning and shows up constantly with other spider crossovers....from the return of ultimate peter to the recent spidergeddon.....miles does something and everyone stands around in awe of just how awesome he is.

ultimate peter is resurrected but who beats green goblin once and for all? miles....while peter sits in the house not even in costume talking about how cool miles is.
then in spidergeddon he gets the cosmic power saves the day and peter talks about how great he was with the powers and how miles used them better than he ever could.

i can't stand that shit with him. it's a constant thing that happens and it's always been awful.

He does seem amazingly teflon for someone who has been pretty much universally hated by his customers -- passionately -- for over a decade straight.

    LOL!!!

The thing that worries me about this cut back in the overall comics DC is producing is that the remaining comics will have a cover increase because the comics being produced at that point will be marketed as the 'high quality' product that we should all be thankful that we're getting.

I don't think so. I think the mass layoffs and reduced publishing line up are cutting overhead making a price hike unnecessary. If they jack up the price, they'll lose sales, which would be disastrous since they're publishing less.

Anyone here pick up Batman The Caped Crusader volume 2 yet? Does it actually skip Batman #432 like the listings say?

It has #432. A great issue by Christopher Priest, back when he was still writing under his other name.

It's missing #442, if that's what you mean. It skips the Lonely Place of Dying crossover issues, where Tim becomes Robin for the first time. I guess either because they didn't want to include Titans issues in this book, or because that story has been collected elsewhere recently.

I have to say, I love these two Caped Crusaders volumes (not so much the Marv Wolfman issues in vol 2, though), but it really irritates me that they don't have a table of contents, the way most other DC collections do. It's really weird, especially with how many different creators are working on these issues.

But between these two Caped Crusaders volumes, the three Jim Aparo Batman volumes, the Bronze Age Batman/Brave and the Bold volumes, and the two Batman by Norm Breyfogle volumes, I've been reading a TON of great Batman lately. I don't really enjoy the current Batman & Detective runs right now, but this 1970s-1990s Batman is the freaking business.

So the listings are wrong then (said it included issues 433 to 444 for some reason.) That's good to know.

I'll definitely be picking this one up once I finish a Death in the Family and the rest of volume 1~

So, when I was watching a video about comic book deaths, Pantha’s name was on the list. Apparently, she was killed by accident from Superboy Prime in Infinite Crisis. She has a good character design, but other than that one issue in which she dies, I’ve never seen her anywhere else.

Does anyone know how she was as a character, both when she was alive and still appearing in comics? And do you think she’ll return?

Also, I just remembered Element Woman, who appeared in Flashpoint and Geoff John’s Justice League run. She was an interesting character, but she hasn’t been seen in a while, and the last I saw was when she was with the Doom Patrol (not the one which was under the Young Animal imprint, but rather the one in Justice League).

Anyone else find her interesting, and think she should return?

Maybe in The Terrifics they both might have a chance to return...

    Here’s pictures for reference:

Pantha was from the later part of Marv Wolfman's Teen Titans run, the part where most people feel like he'd run out of good ideas several years earlier. She was, from what little I know, a pretty standard early 90s bad grrl.

Element Woman is one of those characters that one creator really seems to care a lot about, but then he left the book and nobody else cared enough to follow up on her. Honestly, I liked the female Atom from that era of the book a lot more, but then she turned out to be a villain and died. I'm still torn between whether I respect the plot twist or hate it for taking away an interesting character.
