The game is still up and running but hasn’t received a proper update in awhile. It probably isn’t a good sign.

I wasn't talking about where it would be released but what the game will be like.

If you looked at the OP’s first few posts, you can see the details revealed about the game so far. To summarize, it will be:

    -A third person shooter
-Feature PvP competitive Multiplayer (first since Transformers: Fall of Cybertron)
-On PC and console (which platforms in particular are not confirmed)
-Most likely to follow a, “games of service” model.
-Referred to as an original title. This could potentially mean this game will debut in its own universe, but this also isn’t confirmed.

Oh sure, after bottom feeding on their last two mobile games; NOW you wanna complain. If you guys wanted a proper console game then you should've spoke up in 2016.

Since forged to fight was a success, Don't be surprised if this IS another mobile because it's not their fault that this community got no standards let alone a brain to use.

Hey, no need to be aggressive. But you’re wrong on a few points.

A new Transformers console game has been something the vast majority of fans have been wanting for quite sometime. Again, the last time we got a competitive Multiplayer experience was back with FoC, which was released about six years ago. The playerbase (ROTF, DOTM, WFC, FOC, etc) are pretty much dead with the exception of regulars (including myself) keeping the candle lit.

After ROTDS (and it’s poor sales), it left a bad taste in not only the fans’ mouths, but also Hasbro as well. The mobile game department is clearly more profitable for them, thus the reasoning for the lack of console games. Yes, there was Devastation, but that was (if you will) almost a courtesy to the fans and a last-ditch effort for Activision to cash in on the franchise before they lost the licence. Hasbro is a business at the end of the day. They focus on what will garner money, not what the fans want. They listen sometimes, but they underestimate the overall potential for Transformers in the video game industry.

Fans have been fairly vocal about their feelings towards this issue as well. Petitions have been made, constant comments on social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook), and production of consistent content by fans (like for instance, Johnny Flash).

Forged to Fight had a good start but slowly started treading downhill mainly due to the lack of communication and any new/fresh content introduced into the game. Most recently, Kabam (the developers) stopped producing new characters for the game and are instead re-releasing old content. Compared to Marvel: Contest of Champions (Kabam’s other title), Forged to Fight doesn’t nearly get as much polish or care, despite it being a better game. And last time I checked, Forged to Fight’s forums weren’t looking too pretty. May have to check again when possible. But in the current state that the game is in, I imagine Forged to Fight won’t last long. Which is unfortunate as that was arguably my favorite mobile game. But it was how Kabam treated it’s players that drew me away.

The only successful Transformers mobile game out right now is Earth Wars, which has been keeping a steady pace since it's release about two years prior. They make it their job to listen to the feedback players have regarding the game and dish out livestreams to hang out and communicate with their players, along with updating them on future plans.

An example of a greatly executed licensed game would be Spider-Man on PS4 by Insomniac Games. This showcases how an IP, if properly developed, can turn out amazing. Marvel Games is going in an interesting and smart direction, something Hasbro should take notes on.

The demand for more Transformers video games is there, it’s just putting it into the hands of people who are passionate about the brand and knowing what the fans want. High Moon Studios did that, just fell flat with their sales on DOTM and FOC (mainly due to it's competition at the time). I'd say the hardest part is convincing and appeasing to Hasbro.

Had me a "new game, 3rd person shooter akin to HMS FoC/WfC" ...

Will lose me if it plays like Apex or Fortnite ...

All Activision's fault. Those $$ grubbing bastiches. It's the same reason FoC didn't do so well. They had a good opportunity to be on par, even surpass the competition back then with FoC, but Activision screwed that pooch too.

Yup. I'll be shocked if it's anything other than a Battle Royale, the current "money-spinner" game format for PC & consoles. Those expecting anything like Spiderman PS4 or even the mediocre High Moon games are going to be disappointed. It'll be light on narrative and high on 'emergent experience' which is the same thing as saying "we'll let the players goof around in the game. Also, it's far cheaper to have a world populated by player avatars than coding decent AI".

Still, if they can finally get alt-mode combat right (Devastation holds the current crown but still lacked) then even I may take a look.

Well ROTDS can be split into 2 parts clearly
Good: Any recycled stuff they got from FOC and High Moon
Bad: Literally everything Edge of Reality did. Seriously. The movie-verse models? They are terrible, contrast to ROTF or DOTM (yes both games had issues but the models looked beautiful). The plot? The WFC/FOC part gave none of the things we wanted to bridge the gap, the movie stuff was completely incompatible with AOE.
What I'm hoping for is a good open worlder, if they give us that I'll be happy.

so, They made Transformers Online 4 times (2012 (Chinese) , Universe (Cancelled) and 2017(Chinese)).

I think the gameplay will be a Battle Royale like PUBG and Fortnite.

It's obvious you've never played either Overwatch, Fortnite, or Warframe. If you played the first two, you'd know they're totally different from each other. If you played Warframe, you'd know it's an extremely successful game, and free to play done right. Plus, judging on how fast people were able to hop from Fortnite to Apex shows that if you put the right thing in front of people, they will enjoy it.

    That’s a good point.

These free-to-play games and Overwatch have a player base in the millions due to making the right decisions that allows the competitiveness between players to be levelled, while making money and hopefully, this game can be as successful as these games, if it were free to play (although personally, I’d rather have a paid game).

    And welcome to the forums!

You clearly did not read my post because who ELSE do you think "DE" means other than Digital Extremes, the people who made Warframe? I literally say that DE does F2P right in the very post you quoted ("DE is the only company that seems to understand how to to that as far as I can tell and DE is not on this project") and somehow this is evidence that I'm not Mastery Rank 23 and rolling around with an optimized Volt Prime/Supra Vandal/Aklex Prime/Dex Dakara/Helios Prime build?

My strong impression is that these types of games are incredibly high maintenance for developers - the player base expects regular, high quality updates and meticulous balancing, and any bugs in the code will be ruthlessly exploited. Whenever I drop by the community forums for Overwatch or Paladins, most people seem to be in agreement that even these polished market-leaders are absolutely riddled with problems that urgently need fixing.

So it seems to me a high stakes business - unless they're prepared to invest heavily in the game, it will crash and burn.

Anyway, they may not be willing to do another console game if the money is not there. Smart phone games, right now, are where it is.

Also, playing on a smart phone is the wave of the future: easy and convenient. And if AR and VR (glasses) technology mature enough to the point it can be brought by people anywhere like a regular hand held phone, that is where gaming will trend.

Forged to Fight is still going because it’s making bank. If they can make a good Transformers open-world game (battle royale, MMORPG) with elements from High Moon’s games with massive and varying customization features and several abilities and kill streak perks (combiner, titan, etc.) and all that you can play on both smart phone and console, that would be fun to play with. I’m not much into Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or Tekken type games but give me something similar to War for/Fall of Cybertron co-op and multiplayer and able to play it on console and phone, I’d be happy.
