Dx9 gave up on their guardian huh?

 

I am SSSOOO tempted to pick this guy up. He's crazy cheap on TaoBao at the moment.
I got the Weijiang one and he's awesome but this is loads more toon accurate. I'm not even worried about the cost, it's just... what do I do with WeiJiangs?
I'm migrating to a bot and alt mode collection so I have multiples of a lot of figures, but I simply can't see ANY scenario where I am EVER going to have space to display Omega in base mode - let alone side by side with a bot mode version as well.
I can plan out ways to display Combiners in bot, alt and combined mode, I can figure out tricks to get all three triple changer modes on the shelf (yay for flight stands!!) but I would need a small table to display Omega's alt mode. As cool as it would be, I can really only have one Omega. I suppose I could throw Weijiangs up on eBay, get a few bucks for it. I still have the packaging... but postage would be murder. Close to AU$100 just within Aus from what I can tell. Ironically it was cheaper to ship the figure from China to Aus than it would be to deliver it locally.

Hmmmn... Maybe I can display Gabriel in bot mode, with WJ's rocket, tank and a small segment of track and just stick the rest of the base in the cupboard...
I'll add Gabriel to my wish list for now on TB and see how I feel when I'm ready for my next TB purchase...

 

I only bought the WJ one for the Docbot to pose with Gab. UG is still in the box untouched.

You could put the WJ rocket on the flight stand and the tank next to your Gab? Kinda alt plus bot mode like how your others are displayed I guess?

 

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
Have Gabriel standing in bot mode, the WJ rocket on the stand (or maybe even held aloft in Gabriel's claw?) and then maybe one or two pieces of the track on the ground with the tank on it. Depending on space, could even use two pieces of track to make a little "C" shaped loop touching the wall on either side of Gabriel, so it looks like the track runs around him and into the wall on either side...

Hmmn. Guess I'll have to see how the price and stock levels of Gabriel holds up as I'm not ready to buy at the moment (too many others on the waiting list)
But yeah, that could definitely work.

 

Sold my WJ and it cost about $60 to ship within Australia from memory. Send it using an Aus Post self service check out and you won't pay for postage by volume. The scales can only do weight; don't do it over the counter as the staff will get 8ut the tape measure.

It's a legitimate postage loop hole.

 

@foxracing If you're interested in letting UG go, I'm in the market for one. Docbot is of no interest to me.

i am seeing it for around 112 bucks. but that doesn't include shipping. who knows exactly what it will be to land it here in the states.

 

Is it easy to know what shipping is before you purchase on Taobao?

 

i honestly dont know how it works exactly. but there are others here that like it. but from what i understand there is a middle man or agent for all purchases or something like that.

I’m seeing around AU$160 - which is about US$112

Hard to tell, as it depends on your location, the weight and sometimes the size of the item.
For me, I’m going off WeiJiang Omega supreme and Lewin resources Over-over-over sizes MP-10. Had them shipped to me in Australia and each one shipped for about US$70 each one. I imagine Gabriel would be the same .
It’s expensive but those things were massive and HeAVY!!
Of course, if you're i nthe US you get hit with a higher fee.

Currently more chance of finding Lord Lucan than DX9 honouring the Guardian repaint.

 

There's nothing to honour. It was shown as a proto at one show iirc, no preorders where upped anywhere.
