My figure is fine, but I'm half tempted to seek out replacement parts..... just in case.

    Here we go....

    7EFB4889-43D8-4F1A-80E7-F63866EC6203.jpeg

    so without further ado...
like most, no cracks, thank god.... that joint is too small to perform repairs on.
he did have the tight arm joints, in my case it was the left (his left) shoulder that was super-super tight, not the right. applied the shock oil and a few seconds later its moving. i also noticed the hinge that allows the shoulder to move upward/arm extend out to the side was also pretty tight so i lubed that one up too.
so im good to go but i wouldnt have bought the shock oil without others going through it first, and would have had the same issue.
so thank you for your service and I hope that IF is able to resolve any issues.

Can someone recommend a brand for shock oil?

Also how do you apply the oil to the figure?

Team Losi Silicone Shock Oil 80... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4C86K4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Just swabbed the inside/outside of the joint with a q-tip but I had to watch a transformation video to figure out how to open up the chest correctly, it wasn’t intuitive (for me). But the oil got in from coating the outside. You need to get to this area and apply where the purple meets the black under the tread.

keep the purple thin piece inside the shoulder joint when you rotate the arm, it will help support it and maybe avoid stress marks

Maybe avoid less stress marks. They are unavoidable in my opinion.

I tried the seasoning method from their weibo page and the arm just sheared right off. IF make a great looking product and they're my favorite 3P but this was a dismal start to the DJD.

Just received mine at work. Took a quick glance over and my right shoulder hinge has the crack straight through. It doesn't look like it will break further so I'll superglue(not actual super glue) it back together to prevent any further breaks. The left shoulder is tight but not frozen. Neither purple joints show any stress marks yet (I like to transform my transformers so it may happen) but he looks good otherwise.

bad craftsmanship aside, i must say this is the most aesthetically pleasing figure i own from IF. also a lot of fun to handle, he reminds me of the smaller marvel legends figs that still have all the articulation.

hope IF will include replacement part in their remaining DJD set. I order Tarn before CNY but were canceled by seller due to this reported issue.

The right shoulder of my Tarn arrived cracked, yet somehow still tight. The left was also tight. I applied some shock oil which fixed the left but made the right too loose - to the point of it easily falling off the ball joint. I then applied floor polish to reign things in a bit. The right joint went back to being difficult to move. I submerged the entire figure in jello and now it's finally 100% perfect.

Jello is actually an equilibriumation element, believe it or not. It works for both joints that aren’t tight enough and joints that are too tight, by setting the surface friction at a given point relative to the surfaces, vis a vis ergo.
Takes 24 hours but provides the best results.

Somehow this tickled my funny bone :)  But seriously perhaps IF should be submerging their figures in Jello before shipping them out. It's ridiculous that this thing is still happening.

So after hearing the horror stories I was abit worried about his shoulders, but when I ordered mine from bbts upon closer inspection the joint hasn't cracked and addition it looks like there's is some oil or something cause the ball joint is reflecting it... So there maybe a running update like lubricant pre applied...

I noticed that oily shine as well, though my figure was pre-cracked and both joints were incredibly tight. If it's lubricant they need to up that a squirt or two.

It it's lubricant applied by IF, then they need to acknowledge the huge flaw here and fix their manufacturing process.
