It's not even the fact that it takes longer. I'm fine with waiting longer for free shipping and being able to use store credit. I just don't like TFSource saying it will be in stock in a certain week and then it not coming till a week or two later.

Now I just need a skinnier PM/ Super Ginrai for this big boy to face off against. I hope KFC delivers on their version.

Double Evil was delivered to my office today from the Chosen Prime. Only really had time to unpack him and assemble the robot mode so far at work. He is a very impressive figure as the this has noted repeatedly. He's pretty much everything we collectively want from a masterpiece-alike 3rd party figure. Imposing size, nice detailing, strong feeling joints, great colors, head sculpt, etc. I'm looking forward to bringing him home tonight and playing with him. I really need to not buy some 3rd party for a while as since Christmas I've gotten him, the last 3 Kronos bots and Inventa. An expensive few weeks.

I've had LG Overlord on my desk since he was released and always loved how he looked. Today putting him next to Double Evil was really eye opening. LG Overlord looks like a poorly detailed legends scale figure next to him.

Here he is with WJ oversized/upgraded MP Megatron. I'm really unsure about the scale that Overlord should be as he just seems gigantic to me but these two look pretty good together though this Megatron is several inches taller than the hypothetical "masterpiece scale".

I'm afraid I don't even know what TE-01 is. Double Evil was a random diversion from my usual G1/reissue G1 purchases and collection. The only other 3P toys I have are MakeToys Utopia, the seven Fansproject Function X Headmasters and Wei Jiang Commander, basically as all of those were gifts.

Thank you for the kind words, though!

    All the best

TE01 is Transform Element G1 Optimus Prime. It’s a great figure and it would have been nice to have a photo of it from you. But as you don’t usually own 3P, I understand why you don’t know what it is. If you ever get the opportunity to own one, don’t hesitate.

    Fair enough!

I used to remember loving Carnifex's robot mode, but I only transformed him once and never again. With Thicc lord over here I've probably flipped him back and forth at least four times or so. Really the only thing I don't like about the transformation is detaching the jet cockpit takes a little finesse to pop it off.

Yeah, Carnifex has basically become a really nice poseable statue of IDW Overlord for me. And I think the one thing he has over Double Evil is he's better balanced in bot mode. Everything else though, Carnifex's "tank" mode is extremely easy to transform into, but its pretty dinky compared to DE. And his jet mode is actually not bad, but the transformation is a huge pain.

Double Evil on the other hand, the transformation is easy, yet still involved enough to be fun. Inserting/removing the cockpit is prolly the only pain in the transformation, but I think demonstrates the quality of the plastic. You can manhandle it trying to get it in there/off, and its fine.

I'm glad I have both, but if I had to make the choice, Double Evil all the way.

That's kinda a hard question to answer, because they're different versions of the character. Carnifex is closer to the IDW version, whereas Double Evil is Masterforce. Fans Hobby has their own version of Ginrai and Godbomber which will scale appropriately with Double Evil. They're also working on their own Headmaster Juniors, which will presumably scale properly. But otherwise, the majority of Masterforce characters don't even have figures, so there's not a lot out there to "officially" scale Double Evil against.

I have no idea if Carnifex matches the scale of their other products as they were in the IDW comics.

So I think it really is based on personal preference to what "looks good" in your collection.
