It's sound logic, don't get me wrong. I follow what you say.

The issue is how uneven the presentation is. :sly:  I just prefer things to have a certain theme or aesthetic uniformity (as MOST TF cartoons do). You can mention outliers, sure, but with BAy-verse? It feels like most of it is outliers. What about Skids and Mudflap? How did they add to the movies? You mention accent on G1 Ironhide, but it was nowhere as GRATING as Mudflaps and Skids. :banghead:

The "hair" idea is completely off the rails, imo. G1 did not have hair, because it was plainly stupid. And this is an 80s cartoon team deciding it would be too stupid in the 80s! That should tell you something about the Bay-verse liberties.

I just saw TMNT: OUt of the Shadows, and it reeks of Bay's influence. He has a muscle car tear @$$ out of a police lot just for effect, with a ton of police standing right there, as though they're cool with it.  Bay will do something for the cinematic shock and awe, not for the cohesive art quality or relevance to actual plot. It's all fireworks and explosions for no reason. This leaks into the robot designs he approves - he doesn't have a single artistic vision; he approves whatever looks cool to him at the time.

So no matter how much you want to argue that G1 or BW or whatever was "the same", it's simply not true. Bayverse stuff is more random and weird than any other TF program before it (save maybe Beast Machines, but that's a mess we'll not get into! :lol ). Because Bay is so off-the-cuff and is so terrible with plot/story, his robots suffer the same scatter-shot art direction, where it's a little hard to tell WHAT they're supposed to look like, versus what Bay decided that day to do with Character X.

So this has gone from a logical discussion about aesthetics to basically just Bay-bashing. In a thread based on Bay films.

    Got it.

Also, as stated, G1 had hair. Not sure what rose colored, Nair inducing glasses you're wearing.

Can we please get back to talking about the figures and updates on them instead of arguing about things. All i want is pics updates and release dates and final price. Sorry guys but every time i look at the boards and posts i'm disappointed its not news just people bickering about silly things. We can surly agree we all love transformers and want great figures.

Yeah, adults arguing about robots having mustaches is rather silly. Who cares? There are options for this figure if you don't like the look. I personally dig the historical, realistic alt mode, so I definitely wanna pick one up.

Man I hope that if this figure doesn't sell well that toy world doesn't just completely give up on this line. The ww2 bumblebee and ww1 starscream look great. It just feels like this was a wierd choice to spearhead their movie line.

Toxicity builds character, it also mutates things into cool monsters and stuff.

I think it'll be a minute before we see a Ratchet. He's got the most boring design and his only interesting moment was getting annihilated by Lockdown

They can do one of those two things, but not both.

    Lol
Poor Ratchet, I can only think of a handful of scenes. Pheromones, the cube is raw power, attaching the turbines, mortar the bridge and finally hyurk blah.

Now instead of Ratchet, why not a proper Devcon figure?

What about this fool is terrible misinformed? Lol

He is pretty useless, but I liked his design most out of the 2007 bots. I'm sure Hasbro will give him an MPM soon, so I'd rather see more obscure characters, like devcon, be made by 3rd party.
