I impluse bought him on Pulse but would buying him elsewhere doesn't look like it'll be any cheaper since they're offering free shipping right now anyway. The BBTS price is actually 35 cents more expensive than what I payed due to CA sales tax; not a deal breaker but honestly I see little reason not to just jump on it there and I'm certain the other usuals will match BBTS's price anyway.
Also I'll add that mine is also shipped; it's actually quite surprising that this barely got announced and we're already getting (especially when Stepper and red chest Swoop are still not out).

Not sure if this counts as news but Hasbro Pulse put this thank you letter in the package with Combat Megatron thanking us fans for wanting to order the figure right away. Considering the "See Now, Buy Now" branding I think this might become a new, continuing thing.

Just ordered mine last night so hopefully I’ll get a shipping notice in the next day or two. I’ll probably display him with the combined cannon mounted on his shoulder unless it just looks really off

 

Unfortunately it looks ridiculous. The fusion cannon goes ok on the shoulder, but I’d prefer the sword gun. Do the blades come off? I’m afraid of breaking my shiny new toy  

 

Agreed with Thundershot, looks a little bit ridiculous. It would be better if we could easily take the blades off.

 

They blades are just screwed in on one side, undo that screw, slide the blades out from the side and there you go. The blades can even be used as a halo style sword

 

Or two separate wristblades... wait, are the pegs 5mm? That's what i need to know.

 

The peg that goes through the cannon is 5mm, but it’s one sided, the opposite side that the screw head is on is a 5mm port

 

Wrist blades and the Halo "sword" both suck. I'll stick with the more realistic looking and practical sword.

That’s fine and all, but people were specifically asking about removing the blades so they could use that gun as a shoulder cannon for g2 megatron. Do what you want with your toy, but there’s a specific reason it was being discussed  

 

Yeah I know, I was just throwing in my   Wait, couldn't you just assemble the cannon in it's tank mode configuration and put it on his shoulder?

 

It’s super long that way, someone shared a pic recently. It looks better with just the sword cannon

 

I’m just leaving mine with the fusion cannon on his shoulder. It’s not terrribly offensive.

 

I know this fig isn’t on pre order anymore but my question is does Hasbro pulse charge the pre orders when they come in or do they charge when you pre order? Looked around a bit didn’t see a faq and the help link didn’t work

 

I think I was that. It looked about as silly as the old Hero Megatron when you put one of hims missiles on the cannon. It looked silly but it was fun and made that satisfying pop sound when it fired off.
