I'm just not understanding why fans like these. The exterior sculpts are just so out of control, and the mud effects are just silly. I love G1 and all, but this stuff looks like some body got really bored and 3D printed themselves a collection. It really doesn't help having the gaps in the body parts either.

 

These two will look amazing with Siege Megatron and Shockwave

 

I would love to see them in a group shot with Megatron and Shockwave.

 

Some Siege toys could do well with the good old-fashioned 'paint wipe' seen on some Beast Wars and other toys. Paint that greebled-up light plastic with a dark wash, and wipe it off before it dries, accentuating the molded details and recesses.

 

I don't like open or hollow forearms on Soundwave. Hasbro could have done a better job on him

Aghh so much battle damage on Soundwaves clear door will make it extremely hard to remove without ruining it. Oh well he has been through alot all these years . This will be a modern soundwave to me that can still turn into a Cybertron traffic signal and micro casette recorder. Think when was the last time you actually seen one? The door damage makes more sense that way.

 

Not liking all of the textured detail on these guys. It’s a little overboard. Same reason I passed on Ultra Magnus. Sometimes less is more.

 

I think that picture is just meant to show off the size of the backpack with the wings kinda out of the way

 

I hate that Tetra Jet scream so much, it’s such a lazy design. I could say the same about sound wave but we know, they should have made him some kinda ground vehicle.

 

Soundwave's chest looks odd in that first picture. It's protruding forward...it's like he just started emitting an energon cube.

 

(Sigh....) I don't get why the only side by side picture they'd show of these 2 would be this....

The line certainly shows there’s multiple designers at work. I can’t decode whether it’s good or bad but I do like all the figures but yes, you look at Megatron and Optimus and sideswipe who are very smooth and then you look at soundwave Starscream and Shockwave who have super detailing and makes you raise an eyebrow

 

If SoundBlaster ends up with red eyes I'll just try to swap the light piping of the 2 since I'll have both.

Thanks for posting these! For anyone who is planning on displaying Soundwave with your older CHUGs—based on this picture—Soundwave is roughly the same height as deluxe class Classics/Henkei Cyclonus, maybe even a tad shorter. And if UT Soundmixer is your CHUG Blaster, Soundwave will be a head shorter than him. I posted a few pics of Siege Shockwave for height comparisons over on his review thread if anyone’s interested.

Even so, I’m really excited for Soundwave; I think he looks great! Might pass on Starscream and the seekers. I like the mold, but those pics Purple Heart posted may have sealed the deal for me. Fixing the weathering paint apps on both Starscream and Thundercracker with rubbing alcohol is something I’d have to do—they shouldn’t be exactly the same IMO.
