I didn't care for that type of art back then either. So to me, the effort spent drawing like that on purpose is wasted. It fits the story I guess but that's not doing anything for me either.
You can say "I don't like the style" and that's fine because it is pretty far from the norm, but to say "Scioli's drawings are bad" or implying he doesn't have skill is not right. There's an obvious difference between the two.
Skill is being generous, and it has more to do with his innate inability to plot panels along with his abysmal writing. Aping Kirby or Steranko doesn't mean you have their artistic talent, such as it were.
I think that's what bothers these Go-Bots fans coming out of the wood work the most, though, that it's unlikely IDW or anyone else has any plans to ever do a full revival of the old Go-Bots. These five issues may be all anyone is ever going to get.
I dunno, I'm actually still all for this comic by virtue of it having become almost as bonkers as TF vs GI Joe. Almost as bonkers. Let that sink in. This comic is weird as shit and honestly, that's got me hooked. I can't begin to imagine how this is all going to wrap up next month.
I don't think anyone here is saying anything anti-Gobots. If anything I'd venture a guess at the reason why the negative feeling towards the comic is so strong is precisely because people care about Gobots.
