The closed mouth is the head for the three set Sweep version.

 

They do not come with batteries. Someone has opened the unit before sending it to you.

 

That was my thinking and, as I said, the seal was broken on the bottom of the box. It's just weird because it didn't show any other signs of being used it displayed. Also baba is known to be solid and I can't imagine him deliberately sending me a used figure with a new description.

 

Someone else may be able to verify but Baba may've installed the batteries.

 

Love him for the most part, just the feet, and the wings can be fickle. I actually snapped off one of mine from the Sweep set. Waiting on a replacement piece now from XTB.

 

I got in contact with X-Transbots: [email protected] They were really helpful. It was only when I saw the different face that I decided to buy the figure. I did spray the face White, Paint the beard grey and the eyes red.

 

Was the face a different color? The face is already, well I guess it's more of a greyish blue and the beard is already grey. You just wanted it whiter and a different shade for the beard or something?

Anyway, I'll reach out to their customer service to see about getting a replacement. Thanks!

 

I bought Apollyon way back when and it was average at best. I avoided Xtransbots for so long after that. I went back for Klattu and boy that's a great figure so I thought Xtransbots figured it out. Then I got Andras. Ugh. It's not god-awful, but it's definitely not good. The paint is not good. The feet are loose out of the box and don't hold the ankle tilt when doing an A-stance. I'm so glad I didn't go in on Eligos. I intended to use this guy has a stand-in until Fanstoys comes out with theirs, and then use this guy as a sweep.

Just felt like venting a bit on this guy. Guess I'm back to avoiding Xtransbots again.

 

Their recent releases have been pretty solid like Klaatu. Check out their Stunticons and Skids (Savant). I hear you all the way regarding Apollyon. My v2 Apollyon was the worst TF purchase I've ever made.

I have Andras and the Swarm Pack. Quality wise there are in fact areas of improvement woth the mold. Loose thruster tips. I had to apply clear nail polish to thicken them so they hold in place. There's the crappy feet transformation. Then there's the visible gaps in alt mode. But believe or not when Andras dropped it was the best improvement for XTB at the time. They've gotten better as of late.

 

I'd email the photo to baba or Xtransbots (likely the faster option but they may charge $3-$5 to cover shipping) to get just the replacement face/head.

 

Yup yup. Already done, they charged $5 and sent me two replacements. One with the open mouth and another with a less open mouth. I added red foil to the eyes so they wouldn't look so dead and I installed the face and he's perfect now.



Well, perfect aside from the deception logo that got nicked somehow. Need to order more as that was my last one at that size.

 

IIRC the faces with the closed mouth and the less open mouth are also found on the Swarm pack members (XTB Sweeps).

 

Yeah, that was my understanding. Someone posted pics with the closed mouth and said they got it from xtb and it was one of the swarm faces. I got the regular face and the medium open mouth face but not the closed mouth. I ended up using the medium one cuz I think he looks better with his mouth less open.

 

Also one of the Swarm members has a slightly different shaped beard than Andras.

 

I ordered from Baba via ebay and mine arrived the exact same way - one seal broken, two of the pointy pieces loose, all three batteries installed, and no mace adapter (not sure if that came with the reissue anyhow?). Luckily no paint dings for me, but the coloration of the main body parts seems a bit too turquoise - it seems less blue than first run was or pictures of the reissue make it appear. Any ideas what the deal is? I know baba is trustworthy, but any chance "reprint" was an artful term to avoid saying "reissue"??

 

+1 on what ChromeMagnus says about recent releases. Unless there's a major regression, I wouldn't judge current XTB figures by Andras. Toro, Savant, and their Stunticons are all super solid figures which are on-par or better than Klattu.

 

It's up to you really. No one will tell the difference unless the look closely at the beards and mouths and know what to look far. Plus you'll have a 3 member swarm team with a targetmaster partner for each member.
Personally I picked up Andras and later got the actual 3 pack swarm.
