I hope we'll get some sort of trailer or gameplay even at ToyFair.

All I'm wishing for are a couple of things:

    1) Massive and varied customization features.
    2) the ability to combine and all players involved are able to control the combiner

    YouTube (Legacy):
Transformers games just dont last unfortunately. You get a month or 2 out of it and then they just die. It was almost impossible to find players on console to pair up with.  The gameplay is meh and the storyline is depressing. Not to mention they\'ll probably just remove anything transformers anyway like Activision did.  As for the ppl saying it cant be battle royale because its factions consider this- battle royale can be 25 vs 25 bots vs cons. So it can work but I HIGHLY  doubt they would ever waste their time making a BR TF game. CO-OP is more likely. The best TF game for PC I think was only released in Asia. It was a massive multiplayer if I remember correctly

Fingers crossed that it's going to be a good game. I'm hoping for something like Transformers Universe, but with designs that are more in-line with either G1 or the movies (maybe Bumblebee-style) than Aligned designs. I would love if it has an open-world aspect (at least to an extent), and maybe involves customization and vehicle scanning.

I was actually thinking about that the other day. It would be fun to have a game that allows players to scan various vehicles and objects in the environment. Maybe gathering a certain amount of Energon (or leveling up) could allow you to displace mass, in order to shrink or grow into smaller or larger objects. Beginning players would have to scan something close to their own mass, or even use a default form. Maybe more advanced players could master combination. As players progress, they'd gain more and more nuance to their transformation abilities. Do I expect this game to be that complex? Absolutely not, but something like that would be pretty awesome.

As much as I hate to admit it, a Battle Royale styled Transformers game could be awesome. Have two maps - Earth and Cybertron. Weapon pickups function as blueprint chips and your arms transform into the guns, a la the High Moon Studios games. Energon for health, Cybertronian Metal for Armor, perhaps. Plenty of different grenade types from the HMS games. Have abilities that you can also pick up, or make it class-based like Apex Legends.

The customization of your bot is where they get the money. Make it FTP, and the currency can be used to unlock colora as well as full customization options based on individual bots (ie. buy Optimus and you get his head, torso, arms and legs to use in customization, or just play as Optimus. Paint him any color you want.

Vehicle modes each have their own advantages and disadvantages - flying bots have better mobility and of course can get to higher ground easier, but they have less health and less of an armor cap that, say, a carbot. Cars are fast but also less durable, while Tanks and such are more durable but slower (again, a lot like the HMS games).

The only tricky part is working out the whole Autobots vs Decepticons angle. If there are, say, 60 players - do you do 30 v 30? Or is it a free for all? Squads? But how do squads make sense when Autobots fight Autobots, etc.

The fact that everyone expects/thinks its a battle royale is just sad.... Yes its 2019, but that doesn't mean its a Battle Royale... (just goes to show how a certain game has ruined gaming) I would be more concerned with the fact that these guys have only done multiplayer/dlc, as in, never really made a good game of their own... So most likely scenario here to me, is that this may turn out to be a pretty simplistic game (like their own games) and be forgotten immediately at release. The hopeful side of me thinks that they can push out of their boundaries and create a cool game, But their history just doesn't show it...

I'll wait for Transformers: Offline I think. I don't want an experience dependent on other people or server subscriptions.

As many have commented, online multiplay audiences are fickle and performance can vary regionally as well as over time.

I’d say that Certain Affinity is a fairly competent studio. They’ve been given $10 million to make this game and remains their biggest project to date. They also have numerous ex Bungie employees and worked heavily on successful franchises like Halo and well... Call of Duty. The game has been in development for almost two years so I’m sure they’ve made some progress.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the end product is great and may revitalize Transformers video games as a whole. I think it’s important to stay optimistic while at the same time, remaining realistic.

So, the Transformers Media panel has happened and there\'s no announcement of a new Transformers video game. Guess we fell for the old fake joker gag.

True, maybe I had my expectations way too high. Hopefully something will come out of E3.

Battle Royale hasn't ruined gaming...it's just the latest craze (and Apex Legends is a damned good one). I don't think it will be, but I think the style could work well. I also think a Dynasty Warriors Transformers could be amazing as well, since I'm a fan of those games. They would have an insane amount of characters to peddle as DLC...which is important to those who would publish such a thing. I'd also like a sequel to Deveststion, or another HMS-styled game. Or an open-world RPG. The franchise has so much damned appeal and potential, I'd take almost anything other than another piece of shit mobile game.

Just add a persistent battle mode where you just hop in, play and can logout when you want.

Huge maps so players can transform and fly, drive and whatnot.
    64 vs64.

Add everything Transformers from headmasters to combiners, triple changers, magnus like power armors and so on.
Players get xp, put that in a skill tree and unlock those features.
No lvls like an rpg to keep everyone on par with another.
Class system with everything ranging from scientist to arena fighter to commanding petlike robots.

Features depend on bot sizes which determan the attributes. The bigger the bot, the slower he is, tankier, firepower etc.

Maps include timed events so players get drawn to certain points. Victories on points will change the map so the map stays fresh.

Joining this mode is for character/player advancement and skilltree unlocks that are otherwise locked.

The map cannot be won. Therefor its always online and persistent.

Now thats something i would play.

I don’t think we should expect a trailer anytime soon. Our best bet on hearing more on the game again would be at E3 2019, as other members above have suggested.
