Pre-painted would be nice, but I’d take either.

Awesome thanks for replying to that, I forgot I even asked haha. I can’t remember if I asked this too, but can the original hip skirts work with the new thighs, or will they get in the way?

Also, have you thought about maybe making new add on pieces for the sides of his calves that protrude out for the triangle shape? I always thought the stock ones didn’t angle out far enough. Could be a cool new project to improve this guy :]

No, the leg covers add height to the front side of the thigh and the original skirt work when flat against the original legs....and then hinder the leg all together.

I can’t picture what you are describing, can you mark-up with a picture?

This side piece on his legs. This picture is from the model kit, but the angle it extends outward is greater than what GC’s does

    Hey everyone,

Just to follow-up on the last video. Here are some other clips I wanted to share showcasing the different components that make-up the leg and waist add-on kit I’m still working on.

*Still unfinished, 3D printed, removable and non-tranformable dress-up kit.

1.easily snap-on leg covers. Designed so no hardware required.

2.Waist assembly. This includes the front crotch, bottom and waist plate all inter-locking to each other...designed so no hardware is required. But the body will require a screw connection to secure the upper torso to the upgrade waist.....still looking for proper screws.

    3. Mid-section filler. The lack of mass there bothered me and just looked weird, so made a filler to fill in that area. Snaps in place also.

    4. 360 view and close-up

    5.prevoius shoulder add-on kit

    Thanks for watching:)

Incredible work man. Another question (I’m full of em :D ) Can the midsection filler be used without the waist add on? It looks like it can

Will any of these work with transformation?

Sorry these won’t transform with the figure.
They are an add-on kit, only to upgrade his proportions and aesthetics only.....I think the term I hear used to best describe is a “dress-up kit” ......associated with resin conversion kits (Gundam).

Not sure yet.....what do you guys see as a real and fair price you are willing to pay?

Aside from the 3D printed parts you see, I need to include hardware; pins for the hinges (side & front) skirts and a screw to connect the body together. This would be the unfinished option.

And than there’s the possibility of painting the parts??? to match the light gray of the existing and other paint apps? Not even there yet.
This could be the painted option.

    Ideas from you guys?
    Thanks

Painted would be a good option as long as it’s done well. You’d have to increase the price though understandably

Having some fun with this possible (butt) plug I’m testing to use with a display stand for the dress-up kit. Wow.....Optimus Prime can really do some dynamic action poses with it :)

Do you guys use display stands?

    Ughh...
So I was so excited today that I was finally able to find the screws needed to connect the the body half’s together which would complete the installation for the dress-up kit. Only to be dead in my track b/c of unforeseen detail...access to the existing screw connection.

The existing screw connection sits hidden below the truck grill that is folded inward allowing the torso to sit flush with the waist upgrade. To access the screw hole for treading, the grill needs to fold out. But doing the bottom of the grill causes it not be flushed any more! And if I fold it back so it sits flushed, the grill is in the way and i have no way to tread it!! Ughh...

This was meant to be easy and straight forward and be done...now it just got difficult!
Sorry guys, poor planning on my end :(

When flushed, no access to screw hole

    C34E1E6E-2144-4054-BA39-8B09B9F63984.jpeg

To get access, I need to fold out the grill... but pops out the waist which will not allow to tread flush :(

Use a pin punch and remove the entire piece so the gray part lays flush

Don’t have one, but discovered an easier way... unscrew the screw connection on the back allowing to separate the back side. With it off, I can tread from behind :)  I’ll make a video on the weekend to show this installation.

    Success!

BTW, the midsection filler and upper thigh filler (above the thigh) will be printed in gray filament to match the frame color.
This filler for the upper thigh is where the existing front skirts are attached via a pin hinge. You’ll need to remove it for the dress-up kit. Just push out the pin and install back with the same pin.

    CD572FA9-BC54-4C92-B013-FA13FF34AB46.jpeg

This filler just helps disguise so you don’t see an expose hinge above the thigh.

    After

Blends in with the frame color :)

So here are the videos for disconnecting the body and installing back with the waist upgrade.

*Disconnecting the body @ the existing waist connection:
    1. move the side panels out of the way
    2. unscrew the connection at his back.
    3. then pull the upper body to separate, you may need to unfold the tires out of the way.
    4. with the upper body removed, you’ll need to unscrew the existing waist.
    5. slide the hinges of the tires to expose the screw and unscrew from behind.
    6. see next video

*Connecting the body back with the waist upgrade already installed:
    1. install the waist upgrade per the earlier videos.
    2. install the midsection filler.
    3. with the included new screw, position into the screw hole first with midsection filler.
    4. Once the existing waist with filler is in position, screw together to the waist upgrade from behind.
    5. now connect the upper body back to the back connection, slide in the hinge of the tire in and tuck the tires back into the body & move the side panels back to its original position.
    6. Done :)

    Minor update: testing paint.

So this is simply testing (some parts) if I can even color match the existing “off white” of his legs and butt bumper. Could be the my lighting, but I’m having a tough timing telling if it does? I can’t tell if the existing off white color is a really a faded light grey, light gray with a tint of blue or a tint of tan?? What do you guys think?

At the moment, not really crazy about this color even without the other paint apps. Looks like I spray it with gray primer. Even looks more like the plastic color of the Furai IDW OP model kit. I honestly prefer the current white, seems to play off better with his color scheme.
    All work in progress :)

Those colors are good I think. Feel free to experiment more to achieve a closer match, but that seems fine to me from afar. Maybe try to make the application smoother so there’s less noticeable lines/streaks?
    Keep us updated

That’s the texture line from the the 3D print.
I did an initial sand down and primed it to fill in to smooth out what I can......but won’t complete eliminate without doing a hard sanding but then you sand away any sharp details. Easier on the larger flat surfaces, impossible to do on the smaller details and edges. This stuff is hard to sand down.

Gotcha. Well in that case do whatever you can to get the best look. It’s good progress so far! Also I forget if I asked this, and if I did then I’m sorry haha, but can the thigh pieces be used with the stock hip flaps? Or will they bump into the thigh pieces?
