FT also did a nicer job with the cockpit windows on Silverbolt.

 

I just looked at the date this thread was started.......Nov 2017!?? Holy shit!!! It's been quite a while, thank god I'm not heavily invested in this set.

 

I've been getting seriously tempted by Zeta's Aerialbots but seeing this comparison really made me realize how much more I like the FT version. I will however wait and see how stable and well engineered the combined mode is before jumping in and buying Silverbolt.

+1 to both these observations. The cockpit window bars on Zeta's Silverbolt look terrible IMO.

 

I'm in for the FT version because they didn't just screen grab Silverbolt from the TV model like Takara is doing.
A 100% toon accurate silverbolt would look Derpy IMO. I personally like the heroic sculpt that FT is putting out.
Probably a bit too late for FT to make any changes, and if they did I would probably cancel my preorder.
If you think Zeta's is a better interpretation go with Zeta's offering.

 

They've both done an awful job with the nose/visor, but FT at least is matching the G1 toy's fictional design. Zeta just did a squished, mosquito-nose with an overly thick visor.

I'm not arguing for a toon faithful version like Takara's, I'm asking that they keep iconic features of the character. Silverbolt is elongated and sleek, not stout and blocky.

I felt your pain....none of them put a bald head pilot in the cockpit is another awful thing not easy to forget! (the actual cockpit has, he is behind/below the windows on your pic)

 

Who seriously gives a flying rats ass about this? It's not a 1-100 model of the damn plane... it's a freaking transformer... fuck the perfect likeness of a nose cone lol

These guys look super sick. I'm gonna get them when they are released in 5 years. Zetas will tide me over for now
