I know that you said NO Evangelion, but if you do get into it @Vangelus you should check out the Rebuild series of movies, or at least Shiro Sagisu’s orchestral score for them. It’s some of the best music I’ve ever heard in my life. I don’t know if you’re into that genre, but the tracks with vocals are outstanding.

Also, you guys just barely missed Wonderfest with this one, huh? :lol

I feel like a gump when everyone else is so excited about SIEGE but you kind of touched on my big complaint. The alt modes in general look too normal. I was really hoping for weirder stuff. Impactor excites me, Jetfire seems a bit big but still kind of cool, but Mirage looks so G1 I am uninsterested. But I also have to remind myself that not everyone has had the opportunity to own the classics Mirage mold, so I should be happy for them. But like Sideswipe and Hound, the Mirage mold I don't think I'll own until I get a repaint. maybe Skid-Z?

You brought something up interesting about the Investors call. I kind of get MTG players being tied in more to Hasbro/WoTC finances, from the outside looking in, a lot of those players have a lot of money tied up in cards, which are speculated on and traded as commodities. I get the impression that MTG is an investment, and in that sense a MTG player is tied to the the financial success of Magic in the way stockholders are to Hasbro. Definitely in a way Transformers fans or DnD fans wouldn't be (I think).

I will save you all my incredibly long and pedantic lecture over how the aero on Mirage would not work in the slighest on any planet, let alone era of F1...*puts slides back in case*

The films change some things, and I like them a lot, but they feel lacking in certain aspects that I feel were highlights in series. I highly anticipate the fourth one coming out next year.

So here’s my take on the whole “I need it to transform even if it’ll be in robot mode forever” thing. We like our action figures, transforming or otherwise, to be able to reproduce what the character does in their respective media right? Even if it’s just a signature pose or weapon that we never interact with on a regular basis, we want the figure to be able to do it. Well, a transformation is like half of what a character does. It’s like the expensive version of wanting your gundam to have all its accessories so you can technically display it doing anything that it should have the ablility to do as a gundam...even if you leave everything but the beam swords in the box and never touch them.

This is of course a bit of conjecture on my part, as I transform my figures at least semi-regularly

Not to break the rules here, but that certain anime that shall not be named here did give us a MP-10 repaint that was pretty sick. For some reason, I kinda dug Optimus Prime in Joker colors.

Man, now you got that Skid-z idea into my head. Now I want it, and I am almost positive it will never happen. Thanks Saban.

In their slight defense, in regards to movie 1 optimus, they didn't make him a cab-over truck, because they wanted to avoid too much mass shifting, and so they had to have optimus be a long nose truck to have him be the height they wanted. Not because it'd "look ridiculous".

To be entirely pedantic, Mirage's front wing is at a good angle for down force and for flow manipulation, the fact that it is wider at the base than at the edge means it in washes the air quite a bit which would only be kinda okay if he had the complicated barge boards and nose S ducts that a modern F1 car. A good way to look at front wings is the 2019 cars, especially the Alfa Romeo, with the much simpler and easy to suss out how they work elements. He has no barge boards or front wing end plates so his front down force is negligible at best. This is in stark contrast with his rear wing which has far too much surface area and parasite drag and will only serve to lift him off the ground with any speed above stopped. He also has no sidepods for cooling his theoretical internals, that upper air scoop/roll hoop is not enough. But he's an alien open wheel car so who cares XD. Thus ends my incredibly long rant on why I don't like that Mirage....also his chest is too wide.

Hoooooold up. Did @Vangelus just say that Titans Return TRYPTICON was the thing that has him excited for Siege Omega Supreme? Trypticon, as in, the toy whose hips imploded in the Australian copies. The toy whose chest falls open if you look at it too hard. The toy whose most dynamic leg poses involve him bending over, then snapping back up like he's in Legally Blonde? I'm hyped as hell about Omega Supreme, but Trypticon is the LAST thing that I'd look to for assurance it'll be good.

I'm with Seth on the giant figures. I have Predaking, because he's Predaking. But I cannot justify space for all these figures. Trypticon takes up so much space on the shelf that it's impossible to think of having him, Fort max, Metroplex, Omega, and possibly Scorpinok all lined up and have room for more stuff. Don't get me wrong, they look awesome but I only have so much space.

I meant there being joints in the legs

(I fixed the chest, don't have an Australian one, and haven't had that problem relevant to the film Legally Blonde)

No kidding! I just moved from my parents' house to an apartment and suddenly space has become a major issue. Seth mentioned cutting back due to money but I've had to cut back do to space issues. I'll find a way to make room for Omega Supreme (because I love the character) but I just want ALL the toys :cry :cry :cry

I guess I misunderstood because I didn't catch that you were also talking about the ankle tilts. Yes, those would make a huge difference. And the whole hip issue with Trypticon really left a sour taste in my mouth (even though I do enjoy it). That one's on me. The Legally Blonde thing isn't really a problem, it's just that...I have a hard time translating the level of articulation (if such a thing can be quantified) to a human-shaped body.
