Nice kit (08 retail, not 08+ or the Throne recolor.)

Install is pretty easy, though the wheels in Primal's back are aggravating to set in place and really feel like they shouldn't actually be there. Kind of hinder beast mode head movement, too. Plus you can't use the backpack, which is accurate to the character in the show, so this use is a deal breaker to me.

Looks swell in truck and plane mode, though. They look great! Too bad the pins are too deep and tightly set so the front wheel doesn't rotate... Rears do, though. Rear wheels don't want to sit flat on the floor because of the knee system and how the feet tab into the Primal backpack.

The guns are really nice, kind of hefty and painted nicely. Helps counter balance him as well, because he's rather back heavy with everything on. Doesn't help that the ankles and knees in mine are for whatever reason suddenly loose and he can barely stand up on his own. Throw this on and well....

Anywho... Nice set. Worth the money, really. Not perfect, some choices are kind of odd, but the design works overall.

I just got a shipping notification from RK. Of course that just means they gave it to the Post Office where it'll sit unmoving like another thing I ordered that hasn't budged since the 31st, but it's another step in the road.

I'm worried about the front wheel problems reported, though. One of the selling points of the original kit to me was filling out gorilla mode's back when MiniPrimal was separate.

That's a little disappointing regarding the wheels in the back - one of the drawing points of the kit was fill the gap in the back of the ape mode. Are any tools required for the install?

No tools, on the plus side. The problem is you more or less have to wedge the wheel assembly in the narrow channel and there are two front end tabs that need to sit inside the track where his shoulders swivel up and down for the various modes, then another two tabs slide into place where the cockpit sits and secures when the backpack on.

It should be stupidly simple, it's aggravating. It's easier to remove, much easier.

Any chance you could take pics of the problem?

My package - which includes everything except Optimal set 1, a decision I'm now regretting - just hit UK Customs. At this point I don't even care how much they sting me for so long as they process it quickly instead of letting it collect dust for a week while they contemplate the greater mysteries of existence, which is their usual policy.

Aahh man, I never learn my lesson. These add-on kits always look so nice in promo pictures, but ultimately to a "T", they end up being like trying to apply lipstick to a pig. The pieces themselves are all nice and high quality, but when the base is shitty then it doesn't really matter how great the add-ons are:

(This is the Throne of the Primes two-pack btw)

    - The arm wings, which were loose to begin with, are even droopier now.
    - The new arm shields fall out easily, and also stressed the port that they plug into.
    - Tank mode looks nice but the knee system does not allow the rear wheels to touch the ground, unless you unpeg the legs, which leaves the entire mode very unstable. Also the leg wheel attachments themselves pop out of their sockets quite easily. Finally, the main wheel also disconnects from the cockpit with very little encouragement.
    - Beast mode with the wheel in his chest cavity has the ape head looking straight down at his feet.

Next time i'll just order the damn Nemesis Beast Gorira repaint instead.

Finally installed mine last night. Everything seems fine on mine. Front end of vehicle mode holds well. Only issue I really have has nothing to do with the kit but the fact that I can’t get the feet to tab into the Primal legs in vehicle mode. Even if it did manage to tab, I don’t see how the wheels can be straight. I think I’m just doing it wrong...

Got my kits for both primals in today, the front wheel storage on bot mode stressed both versions of primals shoulders, so I won’t be using those in their intended location, and the right hand on orange primals kit was missing its pinky. Otherwise it’s a good kit

I was out of the Transformers game for a few years, and I tell you, QC has gone downhill since 2014. Official and unofficial alike.

Front wheel does not fit into the thumb holes AT ALL.

They do, you just have to really force them. Uncomfortably so.

Seems like DNA is releasing bad products these days.

I think it's more a company experiencing a number of delays and then feeling the need to rush kits out before CNY (my guess for the silliness going on). It's not surprising there are a number of qc issues (although it's incredibly frustrating)

I just got the regular DK 08 kit, and the swords have black hilts instead of the show-accurate blue. Was this a last minute change? I noticed the photos for DK 08+ feature the black hilts too. I thought it was only DK-08EX that had that colour.

Mine have black handles, too. I'm guessing they were in a rush, so they packed 'em all with black handles. That, or they cut costs (like they did with their Predaking set) and what you see is what you get and no blue ones are coming.

Well at least the blades are painted silver. They're still more show-accurate than the original Primal's swords. Still it's a shame DNA felt pressured to rush their kits out. I would have been fine with waiting.
